This winery is doing things a bit differently then others in the region. They do charge more for their tasting than most around these parts. However, you get a fantastic charcuterie to go with it. This is terrific for such a food challenged area. The charge is very small if you compare it to many of the wineries in the USA.... More

This happens to be one of our favorite winery's in the interior of BC for years, not that we don't have others but this one ranks as one of the top. They have a selection of wine to accommodate everyone's taste and price point. The addition of the food menu is a huge plus for us as well and the... More

Highly knowledgeable and entertaining hostess, Kami, did a great job introducing us to 6 wines from Black Hills Estate Winery on Friday afternoon. We were a large group of 12 and the cabana couches made the event comfortable as well as enjoyable. And if your group purchases a lot of wine in the shop afterwards, the cabana tastings, although a... More

This winery charges 20 dollars for the tasting of all their wines, which still is a lot, given the amount that you get. You do get a good explanation, the ladies are all very friendly, but in spite of all the bling bling the wines are not worth the charge. They're OK, but don't live up to the announcements. Also,... We recently took family touring some of our favourite wineries in Oliver. Most offered free tastings, some had tasting fees refundable on purchase. All offered exceptional service, some beautiful scenery and the Okanagan friendliness that we boast of to our out of town relatives. Black Hills offered little in comparison. The winery was virtually empty, with the exception of a... More

What a treat to start my birthday with a visit to Black Hills. We met Luke the day before at another winery and he recommended coming to visit Black Hills so we did... Sitting in a private cabana by the pool in the sunshine - tasting some fabulous wines - and having great insights from Jesse who looked after us... More

This was only our second trip to the Black Hills Estate Winery, and I am certain that we will visit every time we are back in the Okanagan. Reading other reviews here it’s obvious that some travellers have been a little surprised to find that this winery charges 10, 20 or even $30 for a wine a tasting. Many wineries... More

We have been to many of the wineries in the Okanagan over the last 15 years and this was by far one of best experiences we have had! It was as the winery describes - a tasting experience. We booked a tasting time a few hours ahead on the same day. The cost was beyond what the normal wine tasting... More

We had been to this winery previously and found the wines to be some of our favorites in the area. On this visit we decided to try the four year vertical tasting of their premiere wine, and it was a good choice. Not only were the wines interesting, but the "wine evangelist" spent quite a bit of time with us... More

The tasting room and outdoor patio was beautiful. Loved that part. But the fee for tasting was the most we encountered ($10! for a starter taster!!) The wine was good, but not exceptional. Some wineries will take the tasting fee off of your purchase if you buy a bottle of wine. But not this place. My guess is that they... More
