With first vintage released in 2005, Le Vieux Pin is situated on the famed Black Sage Bench in Canada's only pocket desert in the South Okanagan Valley of British Columbia. Le Vieux Pin is named after the majestic old pine tree in their Oliver vineyard. Canadian wine industry considers Le Vieux pin the leading Syrah and Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne producer in BC. The wines capture the essence of French winemaking tradition, but with the fruit and character of the New World. Le Vieux Pin is dedicated to making wines that are elegant and focused, with stamp of time and place. Along with their sister winery, LaStella, they have upwards of 50 acres of prime vineyards in Oliver's Golden Mile and Black Sage Bench, as well as the Osoyoos Lake district. In their commitment to excellence, Le Vieux Pin practises low input viticulture and sustainable farming, employing deficit irrigation to achieve very low yields and complex, concentrated flavours in their grapes. The winemaking philosophy is non-interventionism in approach. These fine wines can be sourced in many restaurants and fine wine merchants across Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden and Holland. The wines here are very nice, a bit on the expensive side. The overall experience is nice, all of the wines are poured in the proper glasses to enhance the tasting experience. The staff are never the same from year to year, so it does detract from their rating, slightly.

Le Vieux Pin strives for, and remarkably nails, the flavors of the Rhone Valley in their exceptional white and red wines. One of two "must" stops for real wine geeks. The other is LVP's sister winery, La Stella, which specializes in Italian style wines. I visit and purchase here every time I'm in the Valley. If you're a beginning taster... More

This winery is amazing! My husvand and I went to this winery for the 2014 VAÏLA ROSÉ and fell in love with almost each vintage we tasted. The wine has a crisp and dry finish. At Le Vieux Pin the vintners goal is to make wine that is as they describe on their site to "capture the essence of French... More

The hostess was generous with her time with us and was clearly proud of the wines Vieux Pin has to offer. Indeed, we recommend the wines and hard a terrible time staying within our budget!

A warm welcome by a charming lady, pretty much experienced in wine history and making. Her management of the wine tasting was outstanding, in terms of comments, presentation, and the like. Being myself involved in the cellar Bodega Solandes in Mendoza Argentina, with some experience of wine making from the ground to the bottle and the customer, I was impressed... More

Thank you Alex for a fabulous wine tasting experience. You made us feel the entire experience with new classes each pour and time to experience it, with lots of knowledge on your product. Great wines which we will experience at home.

Le Vieux Pin really is a cut above and well worth the effort to track it down for a visit. Only one thing matters to them - and that is the quality of the wine. Their unwillingness to compromise on this really shows up in the glass, and overall it really reminds me of past visits to French vineyards. La... More

We are well versed with the wines at Le Vieux Pin, they're one of our favourites. The 2014 vaila-rose is particularly good. The location and winery is beautiful, the wines overall are superior. Our only hesitation is the seemingly arrogant and snotty service from one of the staff members. We had to leave due to the poor service. Of all... More

La Vieux Pin does indeed make some worthy wines along with their sister winery La Stella. However, both take themselves very seriously, even going so far as to compare themselves with Petrus and Domaine Romanee Conti. Really? Give your collective heads a shake! If, after a hundred years or more with a track record of excellence comparable to theirs, maybe,... More
