Went here today for Sunday lunch with friends. Lunch is in 2 sittings, 12.30 and 3.30. At £17.50 for 4 courses I was expecting okay food. What we got was really good food, really good service and a lot of choice. We will be visiting again as it was also very friendly, the waitresses and manager were fantastic. Well done

Friendly service, cosy surroundings and fabulous cooking. A nice variety of fish and seafood - and meat options for those too daft to enjoy the fruit of the seas.

One of the BEST fish dishes I have ever eaten. I had the Skate in black butter and capers and let me tell you, it was quite simply delicious. My white bait starter was also perfect and all washed down with Gadds No.5. Just an all round perfect meal and experience. We had the kids with us and we were... More

We live in broadstairs and went for a drink.my partner had a dry wine which tasted like vinegar.when we asked to have it changed we were then asked to pay a further 4.80 for another glass of vinegar.the staff informed us that it tasted correct.if this is true I think you need to try and source some proper wine instead... we stopped for one drink following a cycle ride as I was thirsty, I asked for a pint. the man serving looked at me with disgust.. I asked him if there was a problem ?? he replied he had met women like me and was not impressed. I was sure I had misunderstood so questioned him further. I hadn't misheard.... More

Just a comment on the pub - as I didn't eat there but heard great things. The beer is extremely well kept and service excellent and its the most charming location on the harbourside.

First time visiting, due to they had live music. Not very busy in bar so we got a seat to watch the jazz group that were playing. Drinks at usual prices. Will visit again for music

Just popped in for a quick drink on a cold blustery evening. How a pub should be! A warm welcome from behind the bar and a real fire bleasing in the hearth

It was a bitterly cold winter day so it was with a sense of relief that we found the Tartar Frigate. Nice bar lady, plenty of fire places and very reasonable prices on sherry and whiskey. Worth a visit, although there are loads of pubs in Broadstairs within a very small area.

I vist this pub every time I visit Broadstairs, its my 'local'. The staff remember me and what I drink. They are friendly. The customers, locals and visitors. are friendly. Its a real, local old fashioned pub, with character. They also have reguler groups play there.
