The Tours are arranged by a team of 110 volunteers.During the walking tour with your guide, you will meet many costumed characters from past centuries. You will see the flint built church and find out a little more about its long history. You will hear of conditions in the workhouse, the Newbolts breakfast concerts for hundreds of fashionable people, the tower used in the Napoleonic wars, famous (and infamous) local residents and our ancient seat of local government for the area. The tour is conducted in groups of around ten and covers less than a mile of flat walking, but does involve standing for a number of 5 minute presentations. It includes a break for tea or coffee (although no break on evening tours, or wet weather tours). You are advised to allow two and a half hours for your tour. In very wet weather we provide an Inclement weather Routine. Access for visitors with disabilities. Children are very welcome on our tour. We would however, suggest a minimum age of 10 years to fully appreciate the experience. At the end of the tour you are invited to contribute towards our costs which average £4 per adult. Here at the St Peter's Village Tour we appreciate any comments you may have with regard to any of our tours and our website. We are Supported by the Broadstairs and St. Peter's Town Council and we are member of the Broadstairs Tourism and Leisure Association. « less

We really enjoyed this tour last Thursday, really interesting and well presented. The costumes and characters were excellant, especially the 'ladies' in the stocks. Local history bought to life in a really professional way even though they are all volunteers.

We have just done the St. Peter's village tour. It was fantastic, many thanks to all the guides and all the costumed people who made it a morning to remember. We had done the tour a few years ago but it was very different this time. So many new vignettes and all the new facts we heard, a treat for... More

We met just before two pm and were escorted in small groups by a friendly guide, through church, churchyard and through the village. Met and sometimes surprised by local people dressed as characters from St Peters past. A super afternoon and even a cup of tea and biscuits in the middle of tour, what more could you ask for?

This tour is very professionally run despite everyone being volunteers. The information was conveyed by both the guide and the past residents of the village dressed in the clothes of the period at their homes or places in the village. This made the tour most enjoyable.

Joined the St Peter's Village Tour this afternoon, which takes about 2.1/2 hrs! Started and finished at the Village Church and the Tour and took in some interesting sights in the Village where we learnt some interesting and unknown facts - even though we have lived in the area for many years! The Actors we met along the tour were... More

I visited the tour yesterday with my family and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. This is a very well organised attraction run entirely by volunteers - you wouldn't believe it as the costumed characters (as well as the guides) you meet on the tour put their heart and soul in to it This was a great informative afternoon where we... Went on the tour yesterday which was great. Lots of costumed characters each with a story to tell. None of them too long but all well-informed and the whole tour make-up was complementary with just enough overlap to understand the content.

Thank you all so much for the most wonderful afternoon on Thursday. It was slick, interesting, most unusal, brilliantly scripted and amusing and the best £4 we have ever spent. Thank you also for all the help you gave on the telephone with booking. Philippa Davies

We have joined many historical tour over the years around the UK, but this tour stands out as probably one of the best we have ever completed. Organised and run by a small group of enthusiastic volunteers, this outshines any of the professional(and expensive!) tours that we have undertaken.
