this beach is just round the headland from Viking Bay, but so different. here you can find a very long sandy beach, with a nice stroll to the headland to the next bay. there is one small cafe in the middle of the bay for that necessary icecream and a lifeguard station, but apart from that it is just you... This is my favourite beach in Thanet. Great for swimming, no loud arcades and shops just lots of space. Great for the kids, we have spent many happy days here this summer.

We had a long walk with our ninth class teenagers along the beach and everyone loved it (even if the teachers were a bit bothered by having to stop so often because of students making selfies - tourists). It wasn't the time of the year for swimming but it seemed like it would be very nice in the summer. We... More

If you can't be bothered with inflatable toys, school parties, and the busy town above- a short walk gets you out of Viking Bay to Stone Bay- clean sand, promenade with huts, and good protected swimming. A great place to laze the day away. In July we practically had the place to ourselves.

A quiet and peaceful beach near to a good choice of holiday hotel/B&B's, never so crowded as Viking Bay. A great choice for families too, with plenty of rock pools to keep the kids happy when the tide is out. Virtually deserted early mornings for a stroll along the waters edge in the sunshine if you are so inclined, likewise... More

Great sands, safe bathing, a good refreshment stall. Right next door to the beautiful Viking Bay, but worth the five minute walk past the Tartar Frigate as it is far less crowded. And full of nice local people.
