We landed at this amazing spot almost at the end of the day. This was a fun ride up, with dramatic views all around Pros: Very scenic, enjoyable and fun The caves are a sensational activity The children play area has one of the tallest slides I have seen in a long time. (Couldnt resist having a go myself too... More

Spent about 5hrs there with plenty to keep the kids (5&8yrs) entertained - 2 adventure playgrounds, 2 cave tours, panning for gold, Punch & Judy show and of course the cable car rides there and back. Paid for a full days parking at the bottom (£5.50) which gave us plenty of time to then have a stroll around the shops... More

Children under 5 are free which is more generous than most attractions. We arrived as soon as the cable car opened and so we experienced no queues and it was the same when we left 4 hours later. We took 2 grandchildren(4 and 9) and wanted them to experience a cable car ride. The younger one was able to enjoy... More

If you are staying or visiting Matlock then do visit the Heights of Abraham attraction. You will get a great view of Matlock on the cable cars. Once at the top there are a number of things you can do such as a cave visit with guided tour, fossil museum, cafe, and play area. We visited on a wet, windy... More

We visited here on a weekday so it was nice and quiet - moderately priced and a fair bit to do. If you're planning on walking up the hill there be prepared as it is very, very steep! We looked in the main cavern and rode the cable car, and also had a drink at the cafe at the top... More

An excellent day out, whether it's with family or friends. Firstly, you queue up and buy your tickets, then you get onboard the cable car, after, it takes you up and then you can go around the shops and exhibitions at the top. It has a park and picnic benches and also an included trip down into the caves, fully... More

We really enjoyed this cable car experience, even though we are scared of heights! The views of the Derbyshire countryside are beautiful and once you reach the top there are many other activities to enjoy, with or without children! Would recommend.

You can't beat the views from The Heights of Abraham. I can confirm that it is possible to wheel a double buggy onto the cable cars! The staff were very helpful, and the cakes in the café at the top are enormous!

We were very impressed by the tour guide's ability to be informative and witty despite being under the pressure of impatient toddlers wanting to leave the cold, damp place. However despite the conditions the steps and railings were very useful though steep in places. It was very atmospheric but maybe the quality of lighting might have been improved. Shout out... More

My wife and I visited the Heights of Abraham and it was a great day out made even more enjoyable by interesting humerous tour guides... The guides involve the visitors with their knowledge of the history of the lead mines from way back in the 1700's... Its a very interesting look back at how hard life was back in the... More
