When we booked our wine tasting tour we wanted to get a wide range understanding about Tuscan wines and flavor nuances. Unfortunately the while informative on process the first 2 vineyards had limited tastings by people with limited understanding on wine flavors. When we arrived at Poggio Antico, we were immediately surprised by the professionalism, quality of the property, and... More

We had an informative and honest tour of the winery's production line and then a tasting of 6 or 7 of their wines. The quality was really exceptional and among the best of the 8 other wineries that we visited. Well worth it!!

We enjoyed our tour here at Poggio Antico and highly suggest it if you are in the Montalcino area. The wines are phenomenal and the tour and tasting were an extra bonus. We also went to a restaurant called "Il Pozzo" in Sant Angelo (a nearby town) and it was delicious. The restaurant on site is currently under renovation. The... More

While staying in Umbria and visiting a couple wineries there (Antinori Winery Sala Castle and Barberani Winery, which were more great tastings no tours), we decided we should visit at least one winery in Tuscany as well. After reviewing some blogs and looking at referenced websites, I selected Poggio Antico frankly because I liked their website. Seems to me the... More

David delighted our group with information about the winery, the process of making the wine, and (of course) the tastings. The wines, grappa, and olive oil at Poggio Antico were outstanding. I recommend this as a stop for anyone visiting the hill towns of Tuscany. This beautiful area will be remembered by all who visit! We did contact them ahead... More

First, don't miss the views from the terraces before starting your tour. Also, you may want to reserve your tour before you plan to go. We did it through our hotel--no problem. The tour was great. Our guide was knowledgeable and answered everyone's questions. The tasting was excellent. Be aware that there may be a steep tasting price--I think 25E,... More

Anna loves her vineyard home and gives a wonderful tour. The wine tasting and goodies to eat at the end made it special.

This was on our list of wineries to visit, it is in a very beautiful setting, but the sign for tours and tasting are not clear, we went to the tour location only to be sent back to the buildings for tasting. The tasting room was small but the staff was friendly as he was trying to cover all 50... More

We set up 4 winery tours in one day which can be done if you start about 9am and finish at 5 or 6. We did Valdicava, Poggio Antico, Ciacci, and Uccelliera. This was our second stop and a good one as it is perfectly set up for visitors. The Italian cypress tree lined drive is beyond beautiful and their... More
