Amazing building and artworks surrounded by grounds with what seems like endless gardens which take you through a winding display of specialised areas of various themes from tropical to mediteranean. The views from the Villa are stunningly beautiful with backdrops of the gardens, lake and the mountains

Beautiful estate. Wonderful grounds, great art pieces. Minimal and not overwhelming...like being in the home of a great collector. The grounds were immaculate, even in the cold rains of October. Quite a treat to visit.

Grand home and beautiful gardens. Worth a visit especially if you like gardens and the location is magical.

A "must do" in our minds if you are travelling to Lake Como. We stayed in Bellagio on this trip and ferried across to Tremezzo. We spent several hours wandering through the extensive and beautiful gardens, enjoyed lunch in the cafe and found the villa itself to be very interesting, particularly the 'first golf course' aspect even though we are... Beautiful gardens around the Villa. A wonderful collection of sculptures, furniture and paintings throughout the villa. Well worth a 2 to 3 hour stop in your day. From the property you will see the gardens that are on the hillside across the lake. There is a Lake Como boat service that will take you across to Bellagio and the gardens... More

This place was so beautiful we visited it twice. Admission was only a few euros, and well worth every euro. The gardens are fabulous and you could spend a whole day easily here. The cafe is comfortable, good outlook and nice service too. If you go to Lake Como, please visit and hear the (sad) history story of Villa Carlotta.... More

Brilliant place, would be even more so in May/June as there are huge numbers of Rhodedendrums and Azaleas. Unfortunately it was raining when we visited so unable to see all the gardens but they certainly looked stunning from the House, which in itself is worth the visit with stunning paintings, furnishings and sculptures in every room.

We visited Villa Carlotta whilst on a tour of Lake Como with Riviera Travel. The visit was conducted by a very knowledgeable guide who provided all the historical facts about this villa. Well recommended.

Carlotta is lovely...we had a very nice visit in Mid October..we recommend the house tour and the gardens. This Villa / Garden is much better than Monastera (Varenna), and its about on par with Melzi (Bellagio). Carlotta is certainly worth the trip and time. But if you have only one Villa / Garden to visit in Lake Como you have... More

The palazzo is pretty with a bit of original furnishings but it was mostly being used as an art gallery which was a bit disappointing. The gardens are lovely with a lot of varied plantings that you wouldn't expect. There were very few flowers but I was also here in September and many may have been past blooming. I've read... More
