In my opinion one of the most beautiful villas on the Como lake, not too many people seem to visit it, but I think it is worth the trip, not only beacause the villa is nicely restored, but also because of the beautiful romantic garden. The villa is well kept and has some artwork from Canova, Hayez and Thorvaldsen. Interesting... More

Nice place to have a walk and spend some time in a place with no traffic. To find a parking slot might be challencing, but I recommend to be patient. The garden is worth of waiting. The garden itself is large. During your walk you can easily feel the history and enjoy the colourful park. The villa is nice, but... More

This is a very interesting garden and well worth the visit. Allow more than 2 hours as it is quite big. Although it was beautiful I still prefer the much smaller Villa Balbianello.

What a beautiful villa and gardens with wonderful location on Lake Como. Spent a couple of hours here happily exploring with our 12 and 16 year olds.

Villa Carlotta is an attractive house but with very mediocre art and furniture, compared to what is available in any European City. However, the price of the ticket is worth it for the view of Lake Como and the gardens are amazing, and I am not a garden person. Allow twenty minutes for the house and 90 minutes at least... More

The house is now a museum which was given as a weeding present to Carlotta - hence its name. It is full of airy rooms filled with works of arts. Some rooms have been preserved. There were also exhibitions of the work of current artists (painting on glass for example). There are grand staircases but also lifts. There is also... More

The garden is huge and there`s lots to see, best in the spring when the Rhododendrons and Azaleas are in bloom we were told but still not bad in July. Some steep paths and limited wheel chair access to some parts of the garden. In the Villa there are a small number of woks of art and some minimally furnished... More
