If you like rhododendrons and azaleas then this is the garden for you in mid-April. Beautiful lakeside setting. A good place to wander for an hour or two.

Beautiful location and views over Lake Como. Trees and shrubs in bloom. The bamboo area was wonderful.

The story behind this beautiful villa is fascinating - and the grounds in which you find yourself are really beautiful - well worth a visit (even though it gets quite busy...).

Well worth the walk around the gardens - they are full of colour and the lake views peeping between trees are amazing. The villa itself is interesting although doesn't take a lot of time to get around.

I started my lake adventure from Como, cruising along Lake Lario, better known as Lake Como with Villa Carlotta as my destination. As everyone claims, this is one of the most beautiful villas to visit along the lake. Once inside the entrance, I followed the pebbled path to the fountain and on the left I had my first real view... My husband and I stayed for about a week in May in Varenna. However of course we wanted to do some exploring so took the ferry over to Tremezzo. Villa Carlotta is beautiful to see inside with lots of sculpture and art work and even some of the original furniture. However the real highlight is the garden. We were lucky... More

A "masterpiece of nature" is a quote taken from the brochure that I picked up at the Villa and it is definitely an accurate description of this special place. We visited the Villa at the beginning of October and there were still many beautiful flowering plants to admire, including a number of species that are over-wintered in green houses. When... More

The gardens of this villa are of extraordinary beauty. There is a large variety of plants and trees and also a museum where princess Carlotta used to live. One of the most famous and beautiful villas in Lake Como.
