We thoroughly enjoyed our walk through the gardens here. The layout is great and the variety was good to see. The species are quite well labelled so you can know what you are seeing and some of the views through trees and plants towards the lake are just beautiful. The gardens are a little step in places so on a... More

The Gardens are so quiet and secluded, allow at least 3 hours to go round both the Villa and Gardens, and if possible go as soon as it opens in the morning to miss the crowds and coach tours good value at €9.00 each

This Villa Carlotta is well worth a visit, the gardens are beautiful and you could spend a few hours just relaxing and strolling around them. The Villa is also very interesting, the views from it are spectacular. There is also a nice little cafe on the grounds where you can have lunch.

We attended a wedding here - and what a fantastic location. The gardens are fabulous, the views are lovely and the building itself is beautiful. We didn't visit the interior, but I'd recommend having a look.

It is about 9Euro to get in, We went early in the morning and there was no queue, when we passed it in the afternoon there was a massive queue to I think mornings are best. The house itself is impressive and filled with art and is more of a gallery than an example of how people lived. There is... More

Get here early to avoid large crowds and you are then able to take great photo's without people in the way. I don't think it matters what time of year you come there is always something to see, but think spring must be amazing. Had lunch here which was lovely, and waitress good, and speedy. Top tip have early lunch... More

While we did enjoy walking around the garden, which was full of spring flowers, we probably liked this garden the least of all the villas we visited during our stay in Bellagio. The house is interesting in parts, with some lovely sculptures, but no photography is allowed inside. The most wonderful thing about the garden are the stunning views over... More

Lovely building, but not a lot in it. Entrance only about €9 though. Gardens were lovely, neat and tidy, but repetitive. And very steep! Has a tearoom in the farthest corner with few diners.

Go for the gardens and consider the villa itself as a nice bonus. I'm not a gardener or horticulturalist, but the gardens are in my view the star attraction here. I slipped into the gardens a bit before 10am on a weekday and the peace and serenity wandering (they do give you a very informative map) before others trickled in... More
