The villa and gardens are fabulous. It is a shame the ticket office staff are not. They were very rude to visitors who did not have euros to pay with.

We are nearing the end of our honeymoon and we have been touring Italy from Venice, to Florence, Verona and the lakes. On a whim, we visited villa carlotta and it was one of the many highlights of our trip!! We would recommend this highly. It costs €9 each which at first we thought was a bit steep but by... More

A must for garden lovers, and the best time to visit is in spring time when every thing is in flower. 9 euros to enter but you could spent all day here. We went early to avoid the crowds and got lots of photos without bodies in the way. By lunch it was getting busy. The Villa not bad but the... More

Beautiful gardens, the azaleas and rhodadendrons were exceptional. The views of Bellagio and the lake were breathtaking

The gardens defy belief. The most exquisite, manicured and elegant gardens I have seen in my life! The colours of the flowers, the mixture of trees which must have been hundreds of years old judging from their massive size, all against the backdrop of the lake/mountains. A truly sublime feast for the senses.

Lovely garden and villa. Many visitors though but it was Easter period. Fantastic views. Well Kept. Should not be missed. Easy to go with bus stopping right in front both going and returning.

If you can visit the villa in Spring time when all the Azelias and Camelias are blooming. Some steep slopes but plenty of gentle paths crossing them. Don't forget the house too - 3 floors of sculptures, paintings, furniture and incredible, colurful wooden ceilings - plus the history of the villa and the tragically short life of Princess Carlotta

The Villa is built on the side of a steep hill but the gardens are set out so the walk round them is not a strenuous one. In April when we visited the gardens are exceptional with the flowers in full bloom, the colours are stunning. Well worth a visit.

Fabulously located mansion on Lake Como. The highlight are the botanical gardens which are ablaze with colour, beautifully scented and afford stunning views across the lake.
