Granted, we were there during a heat wave, but there was not much in bloom at this time of the year. A pretty stop, but we preferred the other villas on the lake.

To reach Villa Carlotta is in front of the ferry boat dock of the same name, or a short walk from the Tremezzo stop. By car, if you are lucky you may find just a few parking spaces right in front of the villa. The ticket office and bookshop are at the entry. The gardens and villa are very accesible... More

I was in Mennaggio so I decided to go and visit this Villa, one of the beautiful villas in Lake Como. The gardens are beautiful and it has easy access for wheelchair and prams (like me), take time to walk around though some areas, near the cascade, are impossible to reach with a pram or wheelchair. Worth the visit though.

We visited the Villa Carlotta on a beautiful, hot sunny July day, and it really did feel as if we'd entered an earthly paradise. The white villa, in its hillside setting overlooking Lake Como, towers above you when you arrive. You then climb the stone steps, with their carved balustrades, up to the main entrance, passing flowers, fountains and a... More

Visited the garden and house in April. Trees were still a bit bare, but Rhododendra in full bloom. Magnificent pinks. Wisteria in bloom as well - there was huge plant that had scaled the height of a nearby pine tree! As visited in April, cool but not very many people so could really enjoy walking around the gardens mostly in... More

This beautiful villa is in a very good state with some lovely artwork and it is easy to wander around. There are great views from the villa over Lake Como to Bellagio. The gardens are well maintained and with good pathways it is a pleasure to stroll around and enjoy the plants and views. If you are in this area... More

I loved this place. The gardens are beautiful and really well kept. You can wander around here for hours. There is plenty of shade which was what we needed as it was a boiling hot day. The views of lake Como from the gardens are stunning. The actual villa is gorgeous and I wish I could live in such luxury!... More

Wonderful gardens and wonderful views over the lake, with superb artifacts and artwork, it has to be a must see for any visitor to Tremazzo area.
