The movies and photos of this villa really dont do this justice, you just have to visit yourself to appreciate its granduer and presence on the lake. Both the villa and the gardens are amazing and the history equally so. Definitely do a tour of the villa, a time capsule of style and uniqueness. Highly recommended.

On the calm banks of Lake Como, so much loved by the international jet-set, there are 2 villas that I advise you to visit: Villa Carlotta, which is located in an enormous botanical park of 70,000 square metres, and, a few kilometres away, Villa del Balbianello, which goes back to the 12th century and was popular, in its time, with... Lovely villa but not as much to see as expected once we arrived. And, it is a very lengthy walk from La Darsena (not 20 minutes :)

Perfect for views..... Perfect for relaxing. Food was great and lovely to talk to the locals.. It's a breath of fresh air. We hired a boat many times to go to different parts of the island. Stunning!!!

The tour was incredible. Such a neat place to see in person after having seen it by boat in the movies numerous times. We took all of the guests that attended our wedding (from the US) here for a pre "wedding rehearsal" event and they absolutely loved it.

The photographs and videos of Villa del Balbianello can not begin to show you the experience of this magnificent property. Our daughter and her fiance exchanged their wedding vows here with a small group of friends and family. It was the most magnificent, magical, and beautiful experience all who attended have ever had. A must when visiting Lake Como, you... More

I visited Villa Balbianello in september 2015 with a friend. Located in Lake Como nearby Tremezzo you get there by boat; it has wonderful gardens, spectacular views and the general atmosphere feels like being in paradise.

Visiting the location of the latest Star Wars movie last week I entered the most amazing place. Sited on a promontory beside Lake Como, this beautiful villa is a treasure waiting to be discovered. Purchased by an Italian business man who was also an avid explorer and collector you will see some of the most complete collections of artefacts e.g.... More

this an an old villa that was occupied by a man who was quite an explorer! the grounds are immaculate, but don't miss the inside tour. A fascinating collection of items from all over the world. take the boat to Tremezzina, and then it is about a 20 minute walk/hike to the villa which is quite nice; or you can... More
