Picture perfect as befits a star of so many films, the gardens are a joy. The views are breathtaking. The woodland walk to the villa takes either 20mins or 45 depending on the route taken. I probably wouldn't recommend this if you have mobility problems. You can get a water taxi from Lenno for 14 euro which includes entrance to... More

When I travel, many place is look less wonderful than the promoted pictures but not this place. I can say that all pictures of this place I saw from Internet can not hold the beauty of Villa Balbanielo as same as I truly see with my both eyes. It's MUST see if you visit lake Como area. ( I visit... More

Keep in mind that there are quite a few steps to climb as you approach the main avenue that leads to the entrance of this mystical villa. The grounds are meticulous, the views around the lake and the statues make for wonderful photos. We witnessed a wedding at the time of our visit and what a setting for their special day.The building was... I know it sound ridiculous but I've visited the villa for the first time in May 2015 and I'm born in Bellano in 1975 but you know when you grow up in a place you don't admire the beauty until you leave . Anyway, for everyone visiting the lake This is the villa to see, I was stunned from the... More

Went on organised trip to Villa. Guide very informative and learnt a lot about the house. Gardens looked lovely but only had about 20mins to look round before getting back on the boat. If you can get there under your own steam and enjoy a more leisurely look around. Lenno, the village near by also worth a visit on market... More

This really is a stunning property with it,s amazing gardens and the vista out over Lake Como. The villa is amazing with its ornate furniture, chandeliers and the artefacts are also amazing. Only open on certain days, so check timetable. Not for the infirm or frail to visit as very steep entry and lots of steps, so no wheelchairs. Perhaps... More

This place is truely stunning. We did the tour, our guide was most helpful. The Villa has a very interesting history. I would definitely recommend visiting here if you are near by you will not be disappointed.

We walked from Lenno. It's quite a long walk, but ok if your reasonably fit. We got the taxi boat back which gives you some more lovely views as you leave. We didn't bother with the house and were more than happy looking round the gardens. Can't describe how beautiful the gardens and view of the lake is.

Beautiful villa and gardens that are only open on certain days, check before you go. Bear in mind the steps and distance if you are unsteady on your feet. You have the option of taking the short ferry round to the house if that's the case. Well worth visiting the villa with the guided tour with all the secret exits... More
