Thank goodness we hired a local guy (taxitony) and to take us on a trip to the ruins and then the a vineyard. We were greeted by one of the joint owners and shown around, walked into the vines, the cellar the presses and treated to local 'rustic' cooking by his wife and daughter amongst others and omg the wine.... This was one of the highlights of our trip! While the amalfi coast is not known for their wine, this is a must do while visiting the coast. Our trip was set up by wine sommelier Cristian (Swirl the Glass Company). We were given a behind the scenes tour of the winery, cellar and vineyards by the owner Gaetano. After... More

I work in the wine and spirits industry and have been on countless of tours in the US, France, Scotland, Ireland, Amsterdam and London but none compare to the experience I had at Tenuta San Francesco. First, the sommelier - Christian (Swirl the Glass), was knowledgeable but approachable and was interesting to a wine geek like myself as well as... More

First I like to thank the two amazing sisters that drove in on their day off to accommodate us on this wonderful wine tasting. This was by far the best vineyard we've ever visited. They explained everything from the vines all the way to the meaning of the symbols and labels on their bottles. It truly made it a very... More

We spent the afternoon at Tenuta San Francesco for what was billed as a wine lunch at a winery. It was all of that and much, much more. We were greeted by one of the families who own the winery with a glass of wine. We were treated to being able to watch our lunch being prepared by two of... More

What genuinely special and unique afternoon with Gaetano and family. I do not recall the last time I was so swept away by the nature of such warmth and simplicity. I honestly could have stayed forever. Vi ringrazio veramente di cuore! A presto spero!

This wasn't a visit for a tasting but an experience and a visit with a family. We found this place by pure accident and this was the highlight of our entire trip. Gaetano greeted us and was so kind to us because we just appeared there and did not have an appointment. He welcomed us in with open arms and... More

On the occasion of my birthday, we visited the beautiful setting of this vineyard. For a very reasonable price, we toured the vines with Gaetano, one of theowners, and an extremely personable and knowledgeable host. We then sat down to an amazing home-cooked lunch with several other visitors and Gaetano and his family. An absolutely sublime experience! The food was... More

We had a great afternoon at Tenuta San Francesco. We were met by the owner's daughter Rafaela, she brought us into the vineyard and explained the family's and winery's history. She showed us the 4-500 year old vine which was impressive. Her father Gaetano joined us, a very charming and passionate man. They led us up to the winery where... More

Took a car from Ravello for a brief tour of the winery and a tasting. While the winery is young, some of the vines are the oldest we have every seen -- and we have been to wineries in Georgia, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia, Lichtenstein, etc... They had to be 15+ inches in diameter - some 400 years old. I am... More
