the beach has black fine sand. easy to walk in but be careful when it's too hot out or you'll burn! otherwise, the beach is pretty wide. There's designated placed for parasols and sunbeds, but they're connected with the nearby restaurants. this means that you need to purchase something in order to get a discounted price on the parasol and... We spent half a day at the Perissa Beach with the black sand. What made this beach stand out was the quiet, the facilities, and the beautiful tranquil water. Restrooms, restaurants with waiter service, and shops were adjacent to the beach. Beach chairs, umbrellas and even wooden walkways were there to make it pleasant and clean.

We just loved Perissa Beach though it is very different. Shoes are needed, my daughter and I wore our water shoes the entire time, which was kind of nice actually, it's nice to not worry about stepping on something. Here's the plan: walk from Kamari to Perissal 'over the top' and then get a drink or some food in Perissa. Then you can relax on the beach and have a swim whilst waiting for the little ferry to take you back to Kamari (4 Euro each). About 5 hours total

We were in Santorini for 3 days and we saw every place and beach in Santorini but Perissa Beach is the best of them. The sea was very clear, clean and refreshing. To swim, you must choose this place exactly.
