This is one of the most beautiful beaches I have seen. It was so broad and smooth. The sand was hot, but so soft. There were many waves the day we were there, and the water was nice and warm. We took a long walk up the beach. It was not crowded at all, but we were there in the... More

Surfing, body surfing, yoga, walking, an organic market at Habanero: what more could you ask for at the beach.

5 - 6 pm, get on down for happy hour at playa carmen beach bar or regret it forever. Great place to suck back a few, try the ceviche as well.

Our hotel was located right on Playa Carmen. The sunsets were amazing and we enjoyed strolling up and down the beach. Low tide reveals some awesome tide pools. There is no shortage of hermit crabs!

Mucho parking....mucho bueno!! Mucho area for nicer table arrangement. Mucho menu options, better to decrease size of options and improve quality of available selection. REALLY good pizza !!! Good value and great friendly staff!!

The best meal we ate on our trip! Octopus carpaccio, ceviche, shrimp, and the wood fired pizzas were great! We had 8 people, and shared drinks and food all around. Margaritas, gorgeous and tasty, as well as coffee drinks, and Pina Coladas. Easy parking, great view on the beach!

This is one of the only swimming beaches with a bar and guys set up to hook you up with a beach chair and umbrella. It is also a great place to watch the sunset and check out the early evening surfers.

Cute little town along the ocean side road that has about everything. Definitely a surf town. Good beach with soft sand as is typical of CR. Don't give up on the few miles of gravel roads. The town is in the dry season and water is trucked in a couple miles above town and put into the pipeline. With the... More

Beginner friendly surfing here, and lots of great restaurants. We were told not to roam around at night (outside the beach front restaurants).

Best to surf here at sunset as the waves are consistent and not to choppy. Also good to go very early - 6 am. We had bonfires at this beach but DO NOT STAY TOO LATE - two people from our group DID get mugged here at night. It's a beautiful beach in the day time - but drug central... More
