There are many surf shops to rent from in Santa Teresa but when you've found a friendly place, why try another? The staff here were very helpful in setting us up with boards for the week. 7 days for $60 I'm a beginner so they explained why the big board is where I should start and gave me some cues... More

Santa Teresa has no shortage of board shops. Stumbled into Kina looking for a shortboard rental. They have a huge selection of new boards and their used boards selection is huge and top notch. Current Rusty and Al Merrick's pepper the rack. Rent a board and want to swap out as I did, no problem. Simply drop off your current... More

There are many surf shops in Santa Teresa, but i highly recommend Kina. They offer a great selection of rental boards, lessons and they stock all kinds of great surf gear. It is the staff, however, that sets Kina apart. Simply put, they are really good people: welcoming, friendly, helpful and honest. I will definitely go back next time I'm... More

Had two great lessons with eric.....so patient, supportive and fun. Really recommend! It's easy to have the hotels in ST recommend and place you with their "guys", but recommend you walk to surf shop and get legit, real lesson with a pro. Totally made my surf experience

The folks at Kina are knowledgable and friendly- a family op for sure. Great selection of boards and of course the ability to trade out and get a different board at any time. Rachel is a sweetie. They also gave us good intel on hotels, etc. If there's a downside it's that they don't open till 9 am and close... More

Don't know where to start... found Kinas staff, owners, board selection, price, etc.. to be amazing. About the only thing i found is that it is a bit too far away from where i stayed. They have Rusty, AI and more. Only thing,, i think if you are looking for a performance board.. bring your fins, i think most of... More

i went to many surf places in costa rica this fall they had the nicest service that I found. Somes places try to get up to 500$ in deposit on your credit card. This surfshop had a good system if your have put some damage on the board and you will not be charge unreal amount of money for a... More

I went in to look at surf bikinis and rash guard choices since my ribs were bruising up despite using the rash guard I had. I walked out with the best surf bikini (made locally) and a rash guard that Carolyn loaned to me - free. She didn't sell it to me, didn't rent it to me, she let me... More

I know they gotta make a living, but their trucker hats ( pretty low quality) were $20. All their boards were the same if not more than they are priced in the states ($600+)... Down the road at Denga I saw boards for $350. Kina is a cute little shop but expect to pay the same if not more than... More

We rented boards from the shop and they were great about exchanging boards for different conditions. This made my husband very happy! Everyone at the shop was super nice and gave us good recommendations on other surf spots to check out.
