Very well organised, instructed and guided through the caves thanks to Chris and Gareth. The abseiling was so much fun! The lunch at the bottom was very good.Side note, you need to be somewhat fit. You will experience hiking through the caves, some wading in up to chest high cold water but no worries due to the wetsuits provided. Wear... More

It was a 7 hr tour from start to finish, but just as a disclaimer you spend approx. 3.5 hours in the cave depending on the fitness level of the group. Regardless, the staff was nice, funny, and knowledgeable, and the trip was just fantastic overall. They were sure to take many pictures and allowed us to go at a... More

Thanks very much for your lovely words - much appreciated ! We're just a bit perplexed by the comment that you only spend 3.5 hours in the cave. Whilst times do vary a bit with water levels; client numbers; fitness etc the general format is approximately as follows: 10.30am depart Waitomo Adventure Centre 11.00am arrive Lost World Hut - and... Well this has been written about before and I'm adding my two bits. Very well organised, instructed and guided through the caves. Abseiling is exciting and a great start and the rest of the day is awesome. Now a bit of the requirements - they say you don't need to be super fit, well you need to be fit. If... More

It had all been said before, but is true. This is a great experience from start to end. Even for people that don't like hights the abseiling is doable while you feel so save with the guides checking everything thoroughly and the scenery is so beautiful. The cave is beautiful and al the wading, jumping and climbing (you don't have... More

Took my brother who was visiting NZ on the tour as a treat. We both loved it. Our guides, Ben and Ryan, were very professional, knowledgable and good fun. Our safety was never in doubt. The abseil is amazing and a really long way. You are able to take it at your own pace and your guide is always there.... More

This was the most wonderful, amazing, incredible, mind blowing experience of my life!! This experience left me speechless with the pure beauty of these caves. Mother Nature has absolutely out done herself. Words cannot explain the beauty that is featured within these caves. We had very funny, professional guides Scott and Lawrence, I felt safe and secure the whole time.... More

Everything about this tour was amazing. Ben and Craig were our guides, they were very knowledgeable, with great personalities and fantastic cooks. After getting in to your gear which they supply everything (really you only need a swim suit and socks they supply the rest). You have a short walk to the absiel area. This short walk gets you used... More

From the 100m abseil to the glowworm chamber, every step of this journey exceeded its expectations. Although we somewhat knew what we were getting ourselves into, nothing could match the first hand experience. Our amazing guides Scott and Loz were not only friendly and patient but they were full of knowledge and down to earth. Could not have picked a... More

Lost world epic had me lost for words. There is no worldly way to describe the wonder of being dropped 100m into the earths crust and cave your way out with the most fantastic guides. Not only did we feel 100% safe with them, but they also provided much welcome entertainment in the caves! Not to mention their amazing BBQ... More
