Our family decided to visit the caves on a spur of the moment decision.
We did not regre our choice in the least. It was a very good mix of exploration and wonder as we were led into the caves. The kids loved it (who wouldn't when you have little lights above your head) and couldn't get enough of it....

Visiting the caves is a really fun experience! Despite being a little claustrophobic, I'm glad I faced my fear and did the black water rafting through the caves. Wonderful guides! Do something you might never do again.

While in the "cathedral" our guide suggested we sing a song - our group leader began a NZ folk song, and soon other NZ travelers joined in - What a special moment for us from the USA. Glad to see that this entire business is owned and operated by NZ native families.
A nice memory from a beautiful country. Thank...

Our guide was very good. She explained the geography and science behind the glow worm and caves, and made it very interesting for us. It didnt feel like a touristy sight-see cave tour, but overall a fun, interesting adventure.

Our 88 year...

We visited regardless, and while the caves and glowworms were beautiful, we were abandoned by our tour guide in the dark for 30 minutes because there wasn't enough room...

I have read the review of SeanDas and cannot fully understand why people take babies, and autistic children through these places, when being guided through the cave on the boat silence is a must, In my opinion your one of those "unfriendly customers" who uses his children too make complaints about everything and everyone! The guides take thousands of customer's...

We visited with our 2 small children on Saturday April 28th, for our one and only activity in the Waitomo area. As our children were 10 months and 3 years, we picked the shortest trip 45 minutes. We had a female guide called Michael(? spelling). Whilst my eldest son wasn't silent like a mouse, he wasn't unruly or disruptive either,...
