We are celebrating our 34th year as an estate winery in 2015. Sumac Ridge was the first operating estate winery in British Columbia. We have been dedicated to producing wine from 100% BC grown grapes since our inception. We are home to three unique brands in one iconic location. Sumac Ridge Private Reserve wines have welcomed you home for over 30 years. The traditional method sparkling wines of Steller's Jay are wonderfully vivacious, perfect for any occasion. The bold wines of the Black Sage Vineyard speak to the terroir, telling the story of 20 year-old vines planted in the right place at the right time. Visit the winery for a tasting, tour or picnic. We are open for tastings year round, tours and picnics run from May to October.

We were a group of 4 and did the wine pairing tour. The price was negligible given the excellent food and wines that were served. But that was just a small part of the tour. The guide, John, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, informative, passionate about the wines he was talking about, possessed a great sense of humour and added to... More

This is a great winery with loads of history. One of the oldest wineries around. It is owned by a US company called Constalation. We had the privilege of having John L as our host and historian. We had a great tasting of the wines along with the history of each wine. Great tasting room. The wines are very very... More

At this place you will have the best wine tour ever! We have attended wine tours “everywhere” (Napa, France, Germany, Portugal, and also in Canada). None of our previous pairing tours was better than this one. For only $10.00 we had an excellent and informative one hour tour of the winery, with 6 tastings including their exceptional sparkling wine. The... More

We were in Kelowna just for one full day, and have booked a taste tour directly with the winery on the very first tour of the day at 11 am on a Sunday. It turned out that we were the only one brave enough to start a tour that early, and we basically had a private tour given by John.... More

We did the Welcome Home Tour on Sat., Oct. 10. Our group of 4 were the only ones on the tour. I am surprised that there weren't more people. This tour costs $10 per person and its well worth the $10. Our tour guide was John C. and he did an excellent job showing us around the winery and explaining... More

Of the 10 wineries we visited over the past 3 days, Sumac Ridge was our favourite. We booked the tour online the day before. For $10 per person, you get a personal tour (there were 8 of us altogether including my husband and myself) with 6 or 7 wine tastings, each accompanied by a morsel of food that pairs well... More
