Traveled round the island on local transport at $1 a stop no matter how far, minibuses are small and often very full, but that’s part of the adventure, lots of loud music, with the operators driving like they are possessed, Local people very friendly and helpful, never felt threatened like in some of the other northern Caribbean islands (Jamaica), would... This was our second stop today, just about 15 minutes away from the Banks Brewery. This tour was a bit less exciting. To bad they didnt have a guide, it would have made it much more interesting to be apart of this tour. Instead, there were signs and a yellow foot road to follow for the self guided tour. They... Located in St. Philip not far from Six Roads, the airport or The Crane, this is definitely worth a visit. Without the pomp of Mount Gay in Bridgetown or St. Nicholas, this simple real authentic distillery, makes many fine rums and other drinks. Visitors can walk the grounds and a simple self-guided tour takes one through a section of the... More

Be sure to call ahead and make sure tasting room is open for tastings otherwise you are missing out. Unfortunately didn't get the name of the lovely lady that gave us our tasting but she was not only delightful but so knowledgable! We had an excellent time and felt great after tasting 10 different rums!! Well worth the visit since... More

Don't go on the weekend. We went on Saturday, the tasting room was closed and this would be the only reason to go as I love the rums they make here(Old Brigand, Doorlys, etc) The entire distillery looked like a ghost town on the weekend. The museum behind the factory is derelict with old amusement park rides rusting. Waste baskets... More

As a lover of rum I decided to visit the distillery after reading such good reviews. It's a bit strange when you arrive because there's no reception and there wasn't really anyone around. As a visitor you're free to wander around the site, which includes a folk museum & bottling exhibit as well as the distillery tour. Entrance is free... More

come to the distillery that produces the 10- and 15-year old rum sold at the Abbey. And, hopefully, you didn't buy rum at the Abbey because you can buy 2 bottles here for what you pay for the fancy bottle sold at Saint Nick's. Deborah was an amazing and well-informed hostess/pourer at the tasting table, and her father William was... More

When Barbados and other Caribbean islands were colonized in the late 1600's, the British encouraged the establishment of sugar plantations to keep the Empire supplied with this commodity. Barbados went a step further than many of the islands and began production of Rum from the sugar pressings. This distillery is the oldest here and very well preserved. The "tour" is... More

if you want to see a real operating rum distillery came to Four square. the self guided tour is fu,n follow the yellow foot prints. Stop in the tasting room for samples of some fantastic rum. the staff are friendly and they explain each rum and the difference between them. i return here every time i am in Barbados.
