come to the distillery that produces the 10- and 15-year old rum sold at the Abbey. And, hopefully, you didn't buy rum at the Abbey because you can buy 2 bottles here for what you pay for the fancy bottle sold at Saint Nick's. Deborah was an amazing and well-informed hostess/pourer at the tasting table, and her father William was... More

When Barbados and other Caribbean islands were colonized in the late 1600's, the British encouraged the establishment of sugar plantations to keep the Empire supplied with this commodity. Barbados went a step further than many of the islands and began production of Rum from the sugar pressings. This distillery is the oldest here and very well preserved. The "tour" is... More

We happened upon this place a bit by chance. Foursquare distillery makes several different rums and you get to sample them all in historic coral building dating from the 18th century. The lady giving the rum to taste describes each rum, and what distinguishes it from the other rums you've tasted. In general the tasting starts with the least expensive... More

After seeing the over-commercialized location of Mount Gay, we decided we would try to find something a little more off the path and true to Barbados. The Foursquare Distillery was a perfect find. From the grounds to the self-guided tour of the facility, the experience was private, informative and fun. We ended with a tasting session in the visitor center... More

Free tours and $10.00 to taste 8 rums. Wow was this the bargain and we found some great aged rums which we purchased and brought home. Our fav. bar told us about the rum that is distilled here and he only uses their rum. So we followed the signs and went in the back entrance but it was empty so... More

My husband had researched this place wanting to try other rums in Barbados besides the others that most people tour. This place is a bit out of the way if you are coming to Bridgetown via a cruise like we did. We hired Glory Tours for a private day tour and chose this location and it was everything we hoped... We went here as part of a cruise tour. I do not drink and really did not know if I would enjoy a tour of a rum factory. It turned out to be a very interesting tour. We had a guided tour and learned a lot about the making of the rum and the history of the rum on the... More

Looking for something fun, interesting (and educational), and a bit unusual to do while visiting Barbados? Try a tour of the Four Square Rum Distillery. Don't be put off by the educational tag for this activity. The facility has a number of displays with information about the rum distilling process, and also about the history of rum, which is in...
