As I mention in the title this is a very popular destination in Romania for Ski and other sports related. The prices in Poiana Brasov are between the highest along the ski resorts. They have tracks for advance and begineers and also for children. There are multiple restaurants and hotels in the area.

Best slopes in whole Romania, however may appear less attractive to Western Europeans used to Alps. However, the prices are more affordable, and the slopes are well-managed. The views are spectacular, and there are plenty of activities for everyone, snow tubing, sledding, snowboarding and skiing.Poiana Brasov tries to establish itself as exclusive ski resort area, and is a bit overpriced... If you want a good ski experience i think Poiana Brasov is a great choice. There are many other activities offered there: snowboarding, horse riding, mountain hike, etc. The services are ok, the hoyels are nice and the restaurants serve mainly Romanian traditional food.

The slopes are OK to the Eastern-European standards, taken care of, this year plenty of snow (however, I was told that two previous years were poor on snow). The quantity of slopes is far behind than any of Alps or Dolomytes, but better than in Slovakia, IMHO. The prices are OK, infrastructure is on 3 out of 5, most of... More

It was too much people during New Year's eve. Slopes were full of people. Trip to the first top takes 30-40 minutes in a long queue.

it was night when we arrived. i was surprised to see that the slopes were fairly well illuminated - at least you could see where you were stepping - but the all around view was great! there were many people and many winter sports possibilities around. i will stay longer next time.

Less than 10 pistes. Boring after two days. No charm in the town, no life in the evening. Still landscape is really beautiful. Don't spend more than 3 nights and avoid the New Year (horribly expensive). Go to Brasov instead.

It is a nice place for ski and winter sports. Expensive though. More expencieve than in Austria. The food is expencieve, access to ski lopes are expencieve and not very well maintained. It is a nice place for relaxation in summer and in winter.

Poiana Brasov is a great place for a winter vacation. it is located close to the beautiful medieval city Brasov, at about 12 km. It has lots of hotels and villas for a large range of prices from 5 star resorts to ski lodges. Also here is located the biggest ski and snowboard slopes in Romania, at about 25 km... More
