A nice mid-size ski resort for the budget concious.

Liked : No lift queues (April). Reasonable lift and rental prices. Disliked: No restaurants/terraces on the slopes. Only one kiosk with communist-days food.

Peaceful and beautiful sky village. We did sky, but the atmosphere is very relax and also romantic. There is a very famous restaurant called Coliba Haiducilor which is a meat and grill excellent restaurant where we had dinner.

The elevators and slopes were well prepared and a good experience. Enough snow alltough we visited the place late March. The service was bad, from renting skis to eat and drink at the Rossignol after ski.

This is the best place to spend time during the winter. The weekend might be a bit crowdy but anyway slopes are easy to access - either for advanced or beginners.Restaurants and shops to have a hot drink nearby.

Out of romanian locations in winter....I could say I like best Poiana Brasov. I like its position, the very big fir trees, the small monastery in the center of the location, the hotels, the slopes, etc.

skying ? Skating ? Eating ? Praising ? This small resort is really attractive by its location nearby Brasov and its quietness.

IF you find yourself, as I did, for work in bucharest before a weekend in winter, go to Poiana for some nice and inexpensive skiing with two days skipass around 50 Euros and ski hire just over 10 for a day you cannot go wrong. At the end of February the slopes were all artificial snow, but even on the... More

The ski slopes are easy to access, however a bit crowdy over the weekend and it closes at 4pm. On top of the mountain is only one cabin restaurant quite busy as it is small but the food is very good and we enjoyed a glass of mulled wine.
