Description: The medieval castle and winery is situated in the Chianti Classico area on...
The medieval castle and winery is situated in the Chianti Classico area on the western slopes of the Elsa valley, looking towards San Gimignano. In 1577 Ludovico Capponi restored the castle and commissioned Bernardino Poccetti, important painter, to fresco the loggia of the court. Production of wine is documented from 1596 on and until today we preserve the tradition and in our vineyards grow exclusively tuscan grape varieties which were used for high quality wines.

We went to two wineries while day tripping to Tuscany from Florence. This was the second one and although the first was lovely, this one was our favorite. The centuries old castle and surrounding countryside are breathtaking. The wine was superb and the tour guide was very welcoming and made us feel like a guest in a home not just... More

Our group of 8 visited the vineyard and also had a wonderful wine pairing lunch. It was a private seating and we were the only people at the vineyard. Lovely guide told us so much about the history of the family and the wines. We ordered wine to be shipped directly home. Delightful afternoon.. highly recommend!

One on one wine tour followed by lunch wine pairing. The castle and scenery are breath taking. The owner just lived right above the winery. Can see they take every process at heart. Lunch is delicious. The tour guide is knowledgeable and friendly. We feel important and exclusive!

This was a great find to see a real working mid sized winery with great history and wonderful wines to choose from A wonderful drive through the rolling hills to find this historic gem sitting there just like a storybook castle with a incredible view of the acreage.

.......and the wine isn't bad too! After a full day touring the Chianti region, this was our last stop. it's off the beaten track and not easy to find - you come across the agritourism house of the same name first. Keep driving a little and then be prepared to be amazed. The castle and grounds are simply stunning, the... More

We met the owner at the gate, and things just kept getting better. A beautiful property and even better wines!

As described in all previous reviews it is a very picturesque place. The environment with its wineyard and olivary grove is relaxing. The guesthouse is in a typically toscanic style with wooden dark furniture and terracotta tiles so we felt homey quickly. But our impression was impaired already when we arrived because the room service were still in the flat... More

We visited this beautiful castle and its winery our 2nd morning in Italy. Our driver gave us an overview of the site on our ride from Florence on a perfect sunny Tuscan day. Our lovely host/guide at the castle was very knowledgeable and guided us through the history of this site and the wine making process; very educational. The grounds... More

Spent an amazing afternoon touring the property, the grounds, hearing the history of the family, and the region. Finished with a tasting, during which I discovered that they produce some fantastic wines.

Sweet Chiara had the day off, but when the three of us came to the beautiful castle, she came within 5 minutes to give us a private tour. It was very interesting to hear about the winemaking, and surprising to learn that they still harvest the grapes by hand! We visited the wine cellar, and afterwards got to taste three... More
