Modica is a lively and lovely town. While Ragusa Ibla and Scicli are flat on top of a hill, Modica is slightly more challenging to visit - but definitely worth the effort. Modica seems to have been looked after better than Scicli for example and to take pride and care in its heritage. Modica seems to be particularly proud of... More

Modica is a lively city constructed on hills. The city eventhough is small but is charming with its great beauty and architecture both during day and nights. We stayed there for four nights and enjoyed the city and tge food and buildings. There are three perfect places to watch the whole city from top which are called panoramic and can... More

What a wonderful four days we spent at a Modica B & B in this Medieval Village. spectacular scenery with a wonderful town with lovely shops. Known for their chocolate and many stores carried samples. We also toured Ruguso Beach and its a beautiful upscale seaside area. One of our favorites areas in all of Sicily...The real deal. Nice ,... More

We drove to Modica from Noto on 14th August. Roads were quiet and so was the town when we arrived at 11am with parking spaces available. The view over the buildings as dropped into Modica was impressive seeing buildings built into the side of a cliff face. We booked a sightseeing road train Trenino Barocco located on Corso Umberto 1as... More

Our second day in Ragusa we took a short road trip to Modica - the chocolate city! There are many beautiful things to see in Modica, including the Church of San Giorgio, but we went there for the chocolate -- just being honest here! I had read about this place, which is the only place that you can find chocolate... More

What a great place, stunning old stone town, fab views. Lots of nice restaurants, cafe's, and ice cream parlours. take the tourist train ride, it sounds cheesy, but the town is so steep, you could never walk it all, so for 5Euro's, take the trip, its great way of seeing the whole town. Free parking on sundays too. nice quiet... More
