We chose to visit this town on a hot day which was not a god decision, as this attraction is more or less just walking about. Yes, the architecture is impressive, but not a lot to do aside from looking and taking occasional photo.

We did a day trip from Taormina by bus, first to Ragusa and then to Modica and then back to Taormina. We had to be quite careful with timing and it ended up that we were in Modica in the heat of the day in August. The bus drops you off at the bottom of the main street and you... More

Got a ticket for just 6 minutes lasting wrong parking, impossible to understand since the pavement painting... More

We went to Modica on a Sunday afternoon to wander around the amazing architecture. It was wonderful. It is a place just to want around and chill out with a drink (coffee as i was the driver). Then later in the week we found ourselves among the local traffic - which it has to be said - is quite baffling!... More

Sometimes you get stuck in your car in yet another example of great Baroque design ; an example of how cities were once designed to fit perfectly along a valley wall. You get glimpses of inviting places you want to visit and streets you want to walk; not to mention chocolates you want to taste. But no you are foiled... More

What is so amazing about Sicily is the number of stunning towns of indescribable historic and architectural interest. Modica (yet another UNESCO World Heritage site!) is no exception. A stunning City, both in terms of it's setting and the wealth of glorious buildings makes a visit a must. There are two many landmarks to mention but the Duomo (San Giorgio)... More

All the UNESCO sites in this area are truly beautiful. The only downside is the traffic and the appalling Sicilian driving. Worth a trip to see them all, though, as there's nowhere else to equal their architecture.

Lovely churches, great little shops and places galore for cappucino on a real Italian terrace. Just enjoy and relax!

We found Modica very dirty after Taormina and Lipari. The streets were littered with dog poop, gum, graffiti and garbage bins.

I was traveling trough Sicilia and Modica for me was one of the best places to relax. Very calm, amazingly beautiful with such a great architecture. Also Marina di Modica unspoiled beach left me unforgetable experience. Totally worth to go! And panoramic view of Modica at night is something magical :)
