We Trekked this place during rain, It is better than the paid view of horton plain's worlds end . The trail's difficulty level is intermediate. There is two ways to reach this spot, one from the walk on the railway track another via the ravana's cave which actually is a proper jungle trail. It is not at all risky since... More

The hike up can be a bit tiring for unfit people like myself, but the views over Ella are breathtaking . I highly recommend a guide to take you up. It says in the Lonley Planet there are blue markings but there aren't any. We seen so many people lost ! The guide was a bit of a chancer taking... More

This was one of the best trek i have had. The view on the top is breath taking. Will take about 4 hrs all together. There are 2 ways to get into Ella Trek trail. 1. From the Ravana cave temple route which is 2 kms from Ella town towards Wellavaya road. The trail is confusing, many diversions, but i... More

Excellent hike. A bit tricky to find the trail if you don't have a guide, but try to follow other people. Bring lots of water.

well worth the walk! It takes about 10-15 minutes to get to the top and we got a lot of awesome pictures. Try to wear walking shoes, I wasn't prepared for the walk and had to do it in flip flops (which was fine) however it can get a little slippery

Drove up to view point to view Ella gap and Ella rock in the middle of a thunder storm. As the skies cleared the views were phenomenal - down through the mountain pass and out onto the plains beyond. Well worth the effort.

Beautiful walk with an amazing view at the end. I actually recommend going without a guide, since it can be quite fun to get lost in the tea gardens you pass on the way. Someone will come help you eventually anyway - expect to pay them a few rupees as thank you

I loved the walk to Ella gap!! Highly recomend it. It is a faily long walk, so perhaps it would be best to go early in the morning. It will take about four to five hours both ways depending on your pace(and that of your companions!). Th locals are unwilling to give directions, becuase they want to act as guides... More
