Really good hike that includes several climates in it in a two hour trek. Don't forget your water! At some point along the way you will inevitably be followed by a local. Soon after it will become clear that they are guiding you to the top wether you asked for it or not. At the end, the expected tip is... More

We went up to ella rock on our own because we didn't want to pay up to 1.500 Rupees for a guide. At the end I'll explain to you shortly how you get there without a guide. It took us 3 hours and we really enjoyed the silent track between tee plantations and little creeks, over the waterfall and on... More

We went up and shed a person on the way just simply for the way. It turned out that the helpful advisor does this for business to take tourists up in an admitted quick pace. If you are not a ruthless and harsh person, you probably also won't get rid of the guide who of course wants to make money.... More

Great hike! Yet difficult to find the right path. When we struggled to find our way a local guy helped us out (sitting there to help lost tourists in return for money for sure). Even though he was running up the hill and expected us to follow his pace, the hike was great! He even took us, I think on... More

The walk to Ella rock takes you through fields, small vilages, woods. The end part is quite steep. We had a guide which is advisable to make sure you take the right route. On the top, they sell drinks. It is longer that to little Adams peak. They views are great also. Main reason to do this walk, next to... More

I used a map I found on google and was approached several times by local men who told me I was lost when in fact I wasn't and wanted to show me the way. I recommend going early in the morning before the fog, as my descent was rainy and the view had disappeared by 11 am.

My boyfriend and I started walking along the train tracks towards Ella Rock without doing much research beforehand, which turned out to be a bad idea, because we had no idea where to walk. A local man noticed this, and started following is up the mountain. Although I appreciated the help and his company, he demanded 1000 rupees for the... More
