Well worth the short trip out of Ella to see the falls. One of the nicest waterfalls I have visited. Locals charge a small amount for parking and try to sell you quartz.

You can take a bus from Ella to visit this waterfall, which is like a 15 minutes ride. If you want a totally different experience, hitchhike a lorry and travel on the back standing, which I've seen many tourists do...Once you reach the waterfall, if it is not crowded, then enjoy!!! If it is too crowded, climb halfway up from... More

Definitely recommended, especially for guys. We went on a busy poya weekend and there were a lot of families. I'm not sure how harassment for women would be on other days. There's one portion of the pool that is mostly families and then further back is all guys where you can get under the waterfall. Might actually be more comfortable... More

With the name of a historical king in Sri lanka, this is a nice, cascading waterfall to visit, about 20 m in height, but your luck totally depends on the month you travel. During the rainy season, this blooms with gushes of water & heavy mist but it turns in to a mere stream of water during the dry season... More

The waterfalls are not worse to visit. You can not swim there, it was crowded and dirty. Further there are a lot of people who want to sell you different stuff. We pay 1000 rupee for a tuk-tuk from Ella and back (the driver was waiting)

I came across this falls on my way to Ella from Buduruwagala. It is quite small but has some height. The water is very refreshing and there are restaurants around it. I don't know the history behind it but it is quite famous. So a lot of people come over to sun bathe and just enjoy the water. Be careful... More

Ravana Ella falls is near the main road so it's easy to find out (in fact we went there on the way to Galle from Ella Wellawaya). Just have to say It's a beautiful waterfall.

Our driver stopped there (as many times before) on our way from Nuwara Eliya to Yala. In spite of warning signs, locals were bathing in the small lake, and making their hygiene routines. Lots of other locals selling the junk, but were already used to them. Nice short break on the way, but I wouldn't travel just see this attraction... More
