monkeys and a dog were eating calmly together from a litter. Be careful crossing the road, it is a serpentine, drivers go down and turn right here, some of them with a big speed. The good thing - you have not to leave the road to watch it and there is a stand with an explanation. Read Ramayana before coming... More

The waterfalls itself are impressive, but the main viewpoint is on the road/bridge. As the road is pretty busy and there are many tourists, the place is not tranquil. You have to pay a fee to park your car. We spent 15 minutes looking at the falls and contiunued. It's a nice stop en route, but don't expect to spend... More

A short drive from Ella made a little tricky by recent landslides. Worth the effort for some great pictures although when we visited the falls were not in full flow. Watch out for touts trying to sell pieces of rock.

Recent landslides have made the journey a little trickier to reach but definitely worth the effort. Great photo opportunity.

We walked down to the waterfall from our hotel which was a nice walk. The waterfall is beautiful and definitely worth a visit. We spent a good hour here, climbing and taking photos. There had been alot of rain over the week prior to us arriving so it was quite big. The next day on our way to Tangalle it... More

We spent great time by Ravana Fall. Great place and romantic atmosphere. We had the best shots there, and enjoyed a lot. Not too far from Ella Town, and the road is enjoyable as well with fantastic views from the car. Monkeys were playing on the road shoulders, adding more fun to the the experience.

We stopped for a few minutes to view this fall en route from Ella to tangalle. Great view and picture opportunities. Note there are several people trying to sell you stones or asking for foreign coins for thier collections.

Nice cascading falls that are located just 4 km from Ella- and make for a nice drive to get to. Don't miss the amazing Ella gap views as you get to here, and beware of the monkeys that have made this their permanent home!

if you've seen a lot of big waterfalls, it's a lot of hype with people selling chatchkis and litter, but if you haven't seen a lot of big waterfalls, then, it is a really big waterfall worth seeing.

This waterfall was in full flood when I was there yesterday. The volume of water was just awesome. Monkeys to keep you company too. On the main road sout of Ella so you can't miss it.
