Erom the center of Ella it Costa 20 rp to taken the bus to thuis location. Worth the 20 minute busride because you get amazing views along the way and a waterfall over 100 meters high.

We took a bus from Ella to the falls and a tuk tuk back (although there are many buses back). We climbed a little - but best seen from the bridge - with no effort at all!!

I only visited here on my my to Tangalle and its not really much to see. I would not go out of my way to visit if I were you. A few people trying to sell you stuff is annoying too.

It's a nice waterfall where you can shoot a few good pics. It's not in a forest but near the main road that goes South from Ella, so it's noisy and dangerous if you don't pay attention when crossing the road. If you have a scooter it takes around 10 minutes from Ella.

A guy came up and tried to sell us a rock, when we said no he asked if we had a small English coin as his daughter was collecting them for a school project. When another guy asked for a coin I started to get a little suspicios. A third guy then showed us nearly £7 in coins and asked... More

Wouldn't necessarily make a detour but it's certainly worth a stop if it's on your way. Makes for a nice photo opportunity but beware of the monkeys and cars when crossing.

This water falls is located at a distance of about 15 Kms from Bandarawela, at a place called 'Ella'. This waterfall measures between 80 and 85... More

We visited the falls by bus from Ella. The waterfall is right above the bus stop, the ticket costs 20 rupies and it's a pleasant 10 minutes ride with nice views to Ella gap.

Lovely waterfall....right along the roadside and easily viewed. Our guide told us they were named after Ravana in the Ramayana tale. Very attractive, and photograph well. Locals selling crystals and interesting rocks (like tiger eye) are at the falls and prices are reasonable.
