Well, the universities are also nice. The waterfront is a gathering place for all sorts of people. Nice for conversations and listening to music at night.

I envisioned this to be somewhat similar to manila's baywalk, iloilo esplanade and bacolod baywalk. I was disappointed. I'm not sure why it has been #1 or 2 on the must places to go in Dumaguete. -dim at night, should have put a lot of lights to highlight the ambiance since its beside the seashore -you can't eat clearly, again... Great for an afternoon stroll.. We had eaten some tempura, squid rolls, and penoy with vinegar (this one's my favorite!). Basically, all the stalls sell the same items.. The only thing I didn't like was there are a lot of mendicants asking for food or money while you're eating..

There is absolutely nothing great about this boulevard. The bad sewage smells are quite constant , almost as bad as roxas boulevard in Manila bay. The lighting is poor, dimly lit. The traffic noise constant. What a great disappointment! Restaurants & eateries quite badly laid out along a road and paths with dangerous holes .The Mayor needs to be proactive... More

Sunrises are a key feature! Stay at the Honeycomb, Bethel or Residentia, and you get the benefits of a lovely sunrise morning: check out Bo's for a good latte, walk or run along the baywall, join a t'ai-chi exercise group or just take in the pleasant feeling there. Rizal has, however, some serious drawbacks! 1. Although non-smoking signs are posted... More
