It is a quiet beach to go sunbathing. You can walk a very long way inside the sea before you get to the wave breakers. For kite surfing the sea is ideal: there's always a lot of wind and the water is always that high that you can stand.

Difficult to imagine a better beach - huge expanse of white sand with vivid light and dark blue sea and tall palm trees on the other side. This really is the template for a tropical island - the sea is warm and shelves very gently so great for gentle swimming or paddling. Only problem with the beach is that it's... More

Our first impression was amazing - it is so beautiful. Turquoise waters and plenty of palm trees - Just as we pictured it. We walked 10 km north and 10 km south and was so happy that we booked a hotel in Paje and not anywhere else around. The other beaches were dirty (lots of seaweed), had rocks on the... More

One of the best place for Kite Surfing. Stay at Zanzibar White Sand Luxury Villas if you are planning on going.

I've travelled to many beautiful beaches around the world including in the Pacific and the Caribean, and Paje beach is right up there with the best. With beautiful white sand, turquoise warm waters and plenty of palm trees, you can walk for miles. The classic dhows in the background make for plenty of photo opportunities as do the local people.... More

I loved this beach it was so blue with white sand. So beautiful. Very peaceful. Not super touristy or run down with hotels. Just nice little guest houses along the beach.

Paje would be the place for surfers. Although the beach has few decent accommodation places and is home to the wild full moon parties, it is quite remote and off the beaten track. Great for surfing , not so great for peace and quiet!

I stayed with a couple of friends at Michamvi Kae and visited a group at Paje for dinner. Great to see them all but geeze the beach is a death trap, full of kitesurfers buzzing around so good luck trying to enjoy a nice swim. The fact that you have to run a gauntlet full of little shops set up... More
