We had an opportunityo to feed turtles, and for an extra 5 USD, you can swim with the creatures in water as well. Had fun feeding them with the seed weed, and interesting to find out that they never get satisfied, so they are always feeding!!! :-o :-D

It's a fun place for kids. they get to feed the turtles and even pet them. The staff is really nice. they explain everything about the life and surroundings of the turtles

Great to see the conservation work they are doing and pretty cool feeding the turtles! Nice walk along the beach to get to it.

nice thing to do when you are in the area but not worth an individual trip. we combined the aquarium with a little tour through the village, and that was quite nice. not a 100% sure if all of the turtles and other animals get back released into the wild.

It costs $5pp to enter, which isn't much once you realise what the project is about, and how they are helping the turtles. You get to feed them, but you never feel like you are intrusive, or that the turtles are treated badly. It's more of a sanctuary than a zoo. The staff are also very insightful.

I was in Nungwi for parasailing and thought to stop by the Turtle Aquarium. It's a natural aquarium so don't expect anything fancy. They had 3 pythons, fishes (3 species at most) and turtles (20 or 30 of them, different sizes and ages - oldest is about 20 years i think). i paid $10 cos i wanted to swim with... More

4 of us went to Nungwi for the day and visited the aquarium on our way back. There is a natural cave there where about 50 turtles live alongside a variety of fish. The turtles come right to your feet to be fed and by visiting the aquarium, you are also supporting the conservation project which release the turtles back... More

very average place for seeing turtles. this is just for people (like me) that have never seen turtles up close. not a big deal but worth the entrance fee of $5 as this goes towards conservation. go there if you are in the area, but it is not worth an independant trip.

You will just see a big pond with a bunch of turtles and they'll ask you to pay a little steep price (7,500 TSH). I was disappointed because the advertisement seems to inform us that you'll see an aquarium but no aquarium at all.

Went there for a day visit and had to pay but it was worth the while as this is a very worthy cause as these orphan turtles would have a negligible chance of survival without this attraction
