Stuart Landsborough's Puzzling World is a world-unique attraction with the theme of puzzling eccentricity! Take some amazing photos of our crazy buildings and toilets, our Illusion Rooms must be seen to be believed and the Great Maze, the worlds first 'modern-styled' maze, is a fascinating challenge for the whole family. Operating since 1973, this is a true Kiwi icon suitable for all ages and budgets and is a must-see on any tourist itinerary.

Had seen Puzzling World advertised and a few people mentioned it to us but was undecided whether to go until by chance up with a few hours spare. Ended up having a fun 2 or so hours walking the maze and going through the illusion rooms. There was a nice variety of activities and some entertainment value to be had... More

Good illusions and a giant maze, albeit very frustrating. Would be great to go with friends, as a group, or with children. Fun and not too expensive. ($20 for an adult). The cafe has some challenging puzzles on the tables and there are things that make you question yourself.

Had a great time today at puzzling world! Two of us went today (ages 27/30), enjoyed the maze and illusions. Maze was great fun and ended up getting lost in it, bridges in the middle make it harder. Illusion rooms were a lot of fun! Spent time afterwards in the cafe trying out all the table too puzzles! Def recommend... More

Spent a few hours at the puzzling world... good illusions and fun to go with kids... can totally avoid the maze esp in the summers... good things to eat and drink while you rest it out... and yes, fun board games to explore as well while you eat / drink / rest

We spent a few hours exploring the various things in the puzzling world.. the illusions are great and very good fun, esp with kids... the maze was quite frustrating esp in the summers when it is so hot outside.. can avoid the maze or go for the simplest one!

4 adults and 4 'Tweens' all enjoyed this attraction. The maze is a'maze'ing and quite difficult! We didn't get right to the end, so we'll need to come back and have another go! The illusion rooms were terrific, and we didn't get time to try out all the puzzles in the cafe area. Definitely coming back!

Hi Kirsty, Thanks for your cracking review! I'm so pleased the whole tribe had such a great time with us and I think your daughter has a career in tourism marketing with her "must-see" whereas mum, with your "aMAZEing"......hmm :) It sounds like you've got a decent portion of maze and puzzling to be completed so we really hope to... This is a very unique and interesting place. We did both the five rooms and the maze in a couple of hours, and that was the perfect amount of time to spend. We got there when it opened, and when we left it was already packed with people. I don't think it would have been as enjoyable with a million... More

Hi Avent, Thanks for your great review! "A very unique and interesting place" is an awesome way to begin a review so thanks heaps for that. A 1.5-2 hour visit is perfect I agree but it's possible to spend longer (or less if just keen on the highlights) of course :) Easter holidays are a busy time so crowds can... More

Really enjoyed this - the maze was good fun and a perfect way of spending an hour or so during a long drive. Nice cafe too. A silly, enjoyable site!

Hi Cuccir, Thanks for your sweet wee review! We've always pushed the slogan to 'stretch body and mind' during a drive with us, but with our "nice cafe" maybe I should add '....and your tummy' too?! We hope to see you again at PW Kind regards, Duncan Spear Manager Puzzling World More

We brought our 3 children, 7, 5 and 1, they enjoyed themselves tremendously. We only had one day to explore Wanaka but this was indeed well-worth our time. The only downside is that the puzzles sold here are slightly overpriced.

Hi cymicc, Thanks for your great review! I'm so pleased your family chose us for their Wanaka option, great to hear you all enjoyed it Re - puzzle pricing - we love offering a lot of hard-wearing, NZ made, native wood puzzles as part of our range. What we don't love is that the unique, short-production run, high cost to... More

Try to be original here - a MAZE Ing! Seriously, a great old fashioned maze that offers a serious challenge. Best maze I've encountered and a wonderful gallery to support. Again, seriously wonder FULL. Illusions in all dimensions, you decide how many there are...

Hi Blewbery, Thanks for your superb (and creative) review! I get "a MAZE ing" but "wonder FULL illusions"?? - it's too late on a Wednesday night for me to crack that little enigma! I love that you rate our maze as #1 - that'll tell those gurus who gave us #5 in the world recently :) We hope to see... More
