We purposefully came across the Ditch to NZ for the War Birds over Wanaka weekend which is held every 2 years and thoroughly enjoyed it. I took a Gold pass for 2 which is not inexpensive but gave the best view and priority parking and covered the 3 days. For vehicles leaving the area on the Friday, practice day was... More

Very impressive. Another trip down memory lane!! Not quite Thunderbirds, but these jets would have made their own thunder. Most prominent were the Skyhawk, and Strikemaster jets on display. New Zealanders especially, may well remember both of these aircraft when they were in active service. Also enjoyed the impressive array of 'Top End' classic cars, especially the Duesenberg, the Packard... More

We stopped in warbirds and wheels while we were in Wanaka one day because my friend loves planes and cars. The museum was quiet small for the amount of money we payed but it was extremely interesting and i liked it. Its really quality over quantity. Everything was well presented just if there was a little more exhibits that would... More

We have purposely not jammed more exhibits in our attraction and we get lots of very positive feedback on that very point. Just the other day a car enthusiast said how pleasing it was to finally find somewhere that he could actually take decent photos of the vehicles because of the room left around them. Thanks for your feedback. All... More

Enjoyed a break from driving here on the way through to Queenstown. Great pies and other food available at this retro Americana diner.

You are not the first person to compliment us on our pies. We are very proud of them and we have people coming back time and again just for one of our pies. More

We loved the warbirds over wanaka All the events were great and in particular the jet sprint racing was brilliant. Overall the event was very well organised.

I believe the reviewer was at Wanaka Airport at Easter for the Warbirds Over Wanaka International Airshow. Sounds like you had a great time. While the next airshow is not until 2016, the Warbirds and Wheels visitor attraction is open all the time. More

We went there principally to look at the aircraft but it was the cars that stole the show. An amazing variety of vehicles on display all were immaculate. Nice shop & American style diner once you have looked at the exhibits.

Had a walk through while friends were off on a joy flight. Inside the door was a very sobering memorial wall to those that served and died during the war. Very sad to see how young many of the aircrew were. Display of cars was well laid out and I wanted to concentrate on the aviation side Worth a look.

Thanks for your review. The memorial wall is certainly a sad but relevant part of our history. We also get lots of positive comments about our tribute to NZ's fighter aces. Glad you enjoyed your visit to Warbirds and Wheels. More

A very nicely laid out museum. unfortunately since I was last there many of the aircraft had been sold There were some beautiful restored cars on show

Once again we have to point out that we are NOT the NZ Fighter Pilots' Musuem. That was closed down several years ago after many of the aircraft were sold off. We have five warbirds and our display traces the evolution of the fighting aircraft. Then of course we have the Sir Tim Wallis story, a world-class collection of classic... More
