Not withstanding the absolutely perfect day and breathtaking scenery, we had a great trip out to Mou Waho Island. We were treated to lot's of inquisitive Buff Wekas just casually wandering around, even sunning themselves! Chris was full of information on the history, geology and flora and fauna of the area, which was great. Endless opportunities to take lots of... More

We had an excellent tour with Chris to Mou Waho island in lake Wanaka. Chris' enthusiasm for the local wildlife and its protection is simply contagious. We learned a lot about the local plants and animals, the challenges with conservation and the history of the region. Chris is at least as entertaining as he is knowledgable so the half-day tour... We took a trip to Mou Waho with Chris Riley and found it so beautiful and interesting. Chris was a fund of knowledge and we learnt a lot about the local topography, vegetation, climate and wild life from him. Clearly a dedicated conservationist he loved what he was describing and showed us. We even planted a tree, which he had... More

We had a day in Wanaka free and are so glad we spent it with Eco-Wanaka. We did the 1/2 day boat cruise and island nature walk and our guide Andy did a great job. We were picked up from our hotel on time and taken to the dock. The boat ride out was fun with great views of the... More

We went to a really good trip today: Chris Riley took us to an island on Wanaka lake. We saw rear birds and .... a lake within the Wanaka lake. It was fantastic!

I found this tour company online as my boyfriend and I were keen to do some of the more "nerdy" aspects of South Island. Specifically we were interested in Lord of the Rings/Hobbit movie filming sites. We were initially booked in to do the "Misty Mountains Heli Hike" but due to unseasonable snow that got canceled. Instead we were offered... More

Chris thank you for such a wonderful afternoon. The information and stories you told about New Zealands history were fascinating, the island itself was such a magical place and planting the tree was a really nice touch. This was a lovely way to end our holiday and we will be back without a doubt. Thanks again and all the best.

Chris Riley lives up to all the the good reviews written about him ! We have had the most delightful afternoon with this warm , endearing guide. We made a last minute decision to take a lake trip , and mentioned our interest to Mark our guide with Ridgeline tours upon departing that tour. We hadn't read any reviews but... More

A scenic, informative and fun trip. We traveled by motorboat to a protected island in the middle of Lake Wanaka where we then treated to fascinating nature and history tour, complete with visits by curious wekas and tea at the summit. Chris is an exceptional guide and his passion for the area is contagious.

We spent a wonderful sunny morning with Chris last week. Chris is the Naturalist owner of Eco Adventures. His local and worldly knowledge is amazing. On our boat trip\walking tour we discussed a wide variety of subjects but the best talks were about his town of Wanaka and the local history. He was extremely knowledgeable about the local wildlife as... More
