Our hike and eco tour with Chris to see the Weka bird preserve was a highlight of our trip and will not be forgotten by me or my children. You will be hard pressed to find a more knowledgeable, committed or caring guide anywhere.

This has been our best tour yet and we have had many great experiences in NZ. It is such a pleasure to have a captain, Chris, who is so excited about sharing this beautiful island and all its wonders. We learned so many interesting facts!! Planting a tree to help this island thrive was a great way to finish our... More

This was the best tour that my partner and I did in NZ It started out with a disappointment. Our tour had to be re-planned due to unseasonable snow which canceled our 'Hobbit Heli hike' and turned it into the three lakes Heli hike. I don't feel any disappointment about this. The trip was amazing, the scenery beautiful, the wildlife... More

We really enjoyed this unique and beautiful experience. The scenery was breathtaking and our guide, Chris, was an encyclopedia of knowledge about the geology and evolution of the area as well as wonderful facts about the plants, trees, and wildlife we encountered along the way. As an earlier person posted earlier, he is a delightful guide with a marvelous sense... More

The captain was one of the most knowledgeable and delightful guides we have ever had the good fortune to meet. He explained complex ecological and social issues that have impacted the wildlife and the ecosystems of Lake Wanaka. It was also great fun and included high tea almost at the top of the island we explored. We observed the Weka... More

During this tour we planted a tree on the island in Lake Wanaka, to compensate our footprints and help nature improve. Chris keeps talking, he thjnks fasterthan he can speak. We learned so much about the amazing 'motels', always fully booked on the island, the weka's came so close and the water on our return gave us these hugh waves.... More

We loved our trip to Mao Waho on a wonderful calm sunny day. Chris was so knowledgable and amusing. On the island we enjoyed our hike up to see the island in a lake on an island in a lake on an island in the ocean. We saw wood pigeon, several weka, the amazing weta insects and a gecko ,the... My wife and I have been travelling around New Zealand for just over 3 weeks and this trip was definitely one of, if not the top highlight of our visit! We were hosted by Chris, who was so knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic, he absolutely made the trip! To learn how and why the glaciers carved the landscape and how the... More

Took tour of boat trip to Mou Waho led by Chris. This was the highlight of month long trip. Everything about the tour was great. Happened to be a beautiful day. As Chris said you know it's special when the guide starts taking photos. As other posters mentioned, Chris enthusiasm and love of the place shines. I am not particularly... More

We are here to help. We have walking poles to supply to assist in the nature ramble pace that we travel at to the lake on top. Not a problem for us, as we have had a fit 87 year old get to the lake in time happily. We travel at a leisurely pace, stopping frequently to explain features (and... More

We went on the boat trip to Mou Waho, guided by Chris. He is such an enthusiast for NZ nature, this island, and the weka in particular. We were blessed by very calm conditions and great visibility. The walk took us right to the top of the island, even above the lake. We met the great old weka, Wally, and... More
