The trip to Mou Wahou Island is a one of a kind adventure. It runs rain or shine but no worries, the boat is big and covered. We had rain and high waves but Chris our guide handled the boat with skill and landed the party safely. Chris is a wealth of knowledge on the tour and is very passionate... More

Chris and graham were delightful. so much fun. small boat tour. very informative , beautiful scenery, wekas and wetas, tea and cookies plus planted a tree to help regenerate native plant life after pine tree intruders cut down. Wonderful way to spend a morning. Hiked up to the top of the island so wear good shoes and should be moderately... More

We did the day trip across Lake Wanaka to the island of Mou Waho with Chris - spectacular scenery, lovely walk up to the top of the island to the 'hidden' lake, more wonderful views, fascinating and informative info from our guide - his passion and dedication to preserving and maintaining the island paradise were inspiring. This is definitely what... More

What an absolute treat! Chris is extremely knowledgeable and we thouroughly enjoyed the tour, especially the tree planting. We also loved the swim at the top, it was very special. The only downfall was the price - the tour was extremely expensive for what it is. Espeically as anyone with a boat could access the island free of charge. I... More

I went on the Misty Mountain tour with Chris Riley himself. The weather was lovely. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking - you can really fantasize being on an adventure! I felt like a hobbit or one of the dwarves in the movie traversing the dangerous Misty mountains! There are two helicopter landings, both with fantastic views. I went on three... More

Chris, your guide and skipper, is highly entertaining while imparting a wealth of info about the buff weka (which you will definitely see, maybe even trip over!), wider flora and fauna and their many adaptations dating from days of hungry Moa, and glacial formation of Wanaka lake and recent history. Plus tea at the beautiful lake at the top of... More

This trip to Mou Waho island was probably the best commercial activity we did in a three month trip to New Zealand - yes it is that good. 99% of the goodness of this was thanks to guide Chris. He had so much enthusiasm, knowledge, and friendliness that it turned what could have been just yet-another-wildlife tour into something really... More

We did this tour with Chris, who is an extremely funny, knowledgeable bloke. The views from Mou Waho were spectacular and Chris even showed us how to take some awesome panorama pics with our assorted phones. Whilst the tour is almost $200, you will learn that everything tourist related in NZ is expensive to do. It's a steep hike up... More

Alan took us to the west coast of the South Island. He took us into tropical rain forests His knowledge of trees and plants was just like having a college professor with you. He had a great sense of humor. Went to places that we would never have found ourselves. Do it!

Chris took our small team to the island Mou Waho and the walk to the top. This is an outstanding trip of New Zealand nature and beauty. The weather was perfect and could not have been better for a photographer. The buff Weka (extinct on NZ mainland since 1920) were great to see. The passion that Chris has for the... More
