We choose to do the electric boat instead of a paddling out ourselves, glad we did when we saw some people from the other tours struggling in the pitch black mangroves. The crew was nice and very informative. We got to relax in the boat and learn about the science and nature of the lagoon and why it glows. We... More

i know everyone hears that paddling is the best way to see the bay. I would argue that not struggling in the mangroves in pitch black darkness is better. To have great guides that explain about the Plankton and other wildlife was great. This is a wildlife tour so depending on conditions, you may not see the bright blue you... More

I took my two kids on the Bio Island electric boat tour and we had the best experience! Charlie (the owner) is so friendly and his crew was amazing. Mario was so informative and went out of his way to engage my kiddos. Being the last tour of the night, we got to spend a little extra time in the... More

The Bio Island tour on the Electric boat was great! Our Captain was awesome and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. They should not allow kayak's on this tour, they were bumping into the trees and will eventually ruin the Mangroves. Only negative was we were not allow to take pictures, so we do not have photo memories.

Once in a Lifetime adventure! our tour was on Nov. 09, 2015. The Bio Island tour was very well managed, but not on time. Boat Capt was quite capable at navigating around the narrow channel connecting the bay w/ the ocean. We all felt very safe from the melee' of inexperienced kayakers. Watching them assault & insult each other is... More

We took the 8:30 electric boat tour of the Bio Bay and getting there was more than half the fun. These guys are fun and really knowledgeable and we loved the dark and quiet trip. So glad we didn't kayak, that looked horrifying!

The boat crew was awesome! The tour was cool even though it wasn't the best time for the luminescent plankton. It was a great experience. Definitely do the power boat, not the kayaks.

We were there the 3rd week of Sept. Cost for two = $110 plus $10 tip. Tour guides admitted that this spot was running out of the luminescent phenom, they gave several reasons. A few days prior, they had zero bio for 2 weeks. On our night, they said it was at 40% but the boat speaker admitted closer to... More

Small group went out to see the bio luminescence bay on Thursday night. As we watched to kayak floundering against the current we were even more pleased to be on the boat. Mario was excited about the science of the luminescence. He obviously enjoyed sharing information about the unique qualities of the bay. Captain Jeff was patient and did a... More

With the boat you enjoy the surroundings more and have less to worry about. My wife REALLY appreciated the boat and would've hated a kayak. Worth every penny. Besides the efficient transport the folks running the show were pleasant and informed. They gave a nice tour that included a healthy dose of biology so we could understand the the bio... More
