What a wonderful experience. We have a son on the autism spectrum and he LOVED this. Mario was our guide and he was very knowledgeable as he explained everything to everyone on board. He helped my son locate the iguanas in the tree as we went by them in the mangrove channel. He found 22 for him. The lagoon was... More

Don't miss this one! The reviews that were disappointed with this natural phenomena must not have gone when it was dark. It was an amazing experience and no camera can really capture what the bioluminescence looks like. That is why the pictures posted look photo shopped. The luminescence looks like pure silver when the fish dart by and when you... More

Went with BioIsland because I was with my wife and young son who do not swim. The electric boat seamed safer than the kayaks. Mario our biologist on the ship and The captain were amazing. They explained everything on the way to and at the bay. Typically my 9 year old can exhaust almost everyone with questions. But Mario just... More

My husband, son, and I decided to take this tour while recently visiting Puerto Rico. My husband had done a lot of internet research prior to our booking and decided that this would be the best way to see the bay - as we have never kayaked. He could not have picked better! Barney, our tour guide, was a wealth... More

Because we have 2 young (7 years old) granddaughters with us, I decided to book the electric boat trip with BioIsland rather than the kayaks. What a good decision that was! We got there with less stress and had the bio bay to ourselves while the others were kayaking there and had more time before having to return to the... More

We went to the Bio-Island primarily to see the luminescent water. I cannot express how disappointed everyone was on our electric boat, and pretty much every kayak that returned. The bright luminescent pictures are frankly fake. First the good. 1. The tour guide and crew were nice and safe. 2. There is luminescence, but just barely and nothing remotely like... More

Bioisland and all of its crew members have one goal, for all our guests to get a rewarding and unique experience each time we depart on our trips to the biobay. We can assure this review is not completely true, as we do not leave the lagoon until our guests are very satisfied and have had the full bioluminescence experience.... More

Consider doing the boat ride instead of the kayaking! This was so effortless and pleasant! Barney, our guide, and the entire crew, for that matter, are fun, friendly, and had great info to share about the bio bay and island. It was a beautiful experience and we're glad we were able to sit back and enjoy it.

We almost did the kayak and are so glad we didn't. The kayaks experience total darkness in the mangroves. We had small lights on the boat and could always see approaching roots from overhead. Our trip was top notch from beginning to end. This is a must do. You get so much info from the guide and he shows you... More

This was a great tour and one of my favorite things that we did on the Island. The guides were excellent and entertaining. Our main guide was very knowledgeable about the bioluminescence and was able to answer all of our questions about the process and the island in general. You get to see wildlife such as iguanas during the trip... More

I have to agree with the other reviews....my husband, daughter and I took the BioIsland electric boat to the biobay and it was awesome. I am SO GLAD we didn't opt for the kayak trip. A lot of the kayakers were struggling and it was so nice to sit back and enjoy the trip. Our guides were very knowledgable and... More
