My family of four (me, my husband and our two boys) decided on BioIsland boat tour instead of kayaking and we're so glad we did!! It was a quick 5 minute walk from our hotel (El Conquistador) from the Marina area, well lit and very safe. The tent was very easy to find and all of the guys were amazing!... More

I would NEVER have made it in a kayak at 58, even though I am in good health. They have to paddle for 30 to 45 minutes, one way, in the dark, through a mangrove forest. We quietly rode a boat, maneuvering through Kayakers asking for a ride (lol!) and spent a lot of time in the bay. We had... More

We chose the BioIsland electric boat over kayaking and were beyond glad that we did! We did the 9pm tour and it was very dark for the whole trip. While the kayakers were focused on making their way through the dark, we were relaxed and learning about the mangroves and lagoon from our excellent guide, Barney. Captain Jeff was excellent... We did the 6:30 tour on May 11. The service that you received is awesome, they were waiting fir us quickly offer us some bottle water and snacks. Captain Jeff and Mario make a great team, they keep everybody inform and Mario give us some great information. Doing the 6:30 tour we were able to see the lagoon and the... More

BioIsland's electric boat is THE WAY to see the bioluminessence. I was afraid the plankton would be dim or "worn out" by the 9pm tour, but nope; they were still amazing. Our guide Mario and our captain were both so personable and knowledgeable all about about the bay - science, legends, developments, community. You can tell they really care about... More

Visited on May 12, 2015 with a good dark moon phase (check the moon phase before booking). Capt. Jeff and his two man crew provided a great tour of the bio-bay. Very safe, confortable, informative and enjoyable in a gas and electric boat. We did not want to kayak in the dark and are glad we chose this outfit. There... More

4 of us did a 9pm tour on 20th may. Was a wonderful experience. The crew were fun and with a lot of knowledge about how this bio lake works which was very interesting. We had originally planned to do the kayak in but so glad we made this choice after watching the chaos of those kayaking in the dark.... More

My BFF and I enjoyed this tour of the bay on the night of Thursday, May 21st... and it exceeded all of my very high expectations! First, the captain and his two crew were so friendly, personable and fun.... and super knowledgeable and very professional. We just sat back in a comfy boat with 4 other guests and enjoyed every... So happy I booked this tour! There are only 2 electric boats that go into the bay and BioIsland is the best! The entire staff is incredible and you learn a lot. My son had an awesome time as well (13). Easy to find but get there early for parking and plenty of places to eat/drink before or after your... More

So I really didnt believe that it would glow as much as others state but man after we got out there it blew my mind. We took the boat as we were going to kayak during the day the next day and I sure am glad that we did as seeing all those kayaks bumping into eachother and going against... More
