Absolutely incredible, so glad we took this trip. Capt Jeff and his dad Carlos are fantastic. Very very knowledgable and made the whole trip interesting and informative AND Capt. Jeff took amazing pictures for us!!! So many people kayak out there but I guarantee they will not have the memories and knowledge we do. Being in the boat we were... More

Traveling with a mobility-impaired relative, Bio Island was the only way to experience what was for me the main experience I wanted to have in Puerto Rico. We made a reservation with Nydia, letting her know we were traveling across the island and coming to Fajardo solely to experience the bio bay. A first night's effort was canceled due to... More

Jeff, The Captain, was very knowledgeable and helpful. He helped everyone adjust their camera's to get the best pictures on the bay. The tour was great! We are so glad that we went with the electric boat and with these people. They are very nice and the experience was perfect. Like I said, don't hesitate you won't regret it. More

We almost didn't go because my wife wouldn't do a kayak, then my daughter found Bio Island with their electric boat. We are so pleased that we made the trip. First, book early as the boat accommodates only six people. Second, while the kayakers were struggling against the strong tide and picking their way thru the darkness of the mangroves,... More

Wow. After reading some of the kayak tour reviews about the pitch black kayak trip through the mangroves my wife and I (both experienced kayak owners) decided to look for something else. Luckily we stumbled upon bio island. Gave them a call and got a last minute cancellation same day trip ( they were booked the day we wanted to... More

Highly recommend 6:30 time slot so you can enjoy the mangroves before dark. GREAT PRIC!!!My mom, sister and sisnlaw traveled to Puerto Rico for 4 days. The Bio Bay Fajardo tour on the electric boat through the mangroves was the best thing we did in Puerto Rico. A MUST SEE!! Forget about kayaks, this tour was SAFE, comfortable, relaxing, informative... More

The best way to see the bay. Eco-friendly boat, knowledgeable, friendly and professional staff. And the guide is a super photographer and will "configure" your camera's flash (especially if you have an SLR) to capture you and the luminescence clearly. Book early thought - the boat is 6 people max and they do 3 trips per evening. We were thinking... More

This outing was one of the highlights to our trip to Puerto Rico. Everyone at BioIsland was so professional, but very nice and a lot of fun. It was much nicer than taking the kayaks because they took you way out further in the bay and we seen so much more than we would have had we been in a... More

This is the way to go, unless you love to kayak. You can enjoy the experience rather than worrying about navigating a kayak. Jeff was a great guide and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Bio Island tours. More

Jeff was superb and explained a lot about bio-luminescence and the mangroves. We instantly felt we had made the right decision choosing the boat instead of the kayaks when we saw atleast 70 - 80 kayaks in the water by various tour operators and most of them struggling in the dark. We had already kayaked twice during the day in... More
