Outameni in Falmouth, Jamaica is a Jamaican Scam. The $36 admission price, per person is the first red flag. The attraction had hoped to take visitors through the "History of Jamaica", and that it does....As a High School Project for "Jamaica Day", but to invite the public to come and pay US$ 36.00 is a rip-off, a scam, a shame.... Our group of two Jamaicans, one history buff and two small children actually liked Outameni and their depiction of Jamaican history, which can be described as the good, the bad and the ugly (especially the slavery part is an ugly but necessary part of showing Jamaican history). This is a unique experience, nothing like the "fun" activities offered elsewhere on... More

$35 each person for a 30 minute tour. Each room demonstrates a certain time period in Jamaican history - starting with the Arawak natives, progressing through Spanish and English occupation, to modern Jamaica. Each room has props and one actor/actress. The props are aging, and the Spanish dress needed mending. Some of the actors really made an effort to act.... More

Call prior to arriving Be prepared for a warm and frindly welcome Be prepared to be a part of the cast (Be involved in the whole presentation) Sound, lighting and music is used to segue into different ereas. There is however, needs for a little more creativity especially going through the middle passage.

the good; Jamaican cuisine samples were awesome! (the ackee and fish is similar to a crab cake in taste, there was jerk chicken, plaintain, breadfruit, saltfish and rum punch) clean bathroom facilities very informative with some hands-on experiences the bad; uneven walkways and steps - be careful kinda cheesy dramatic presentations with awkward opportunities for participation Comments; While I'm not particularly sorry I... During a recent visit to Jamaica, some friends of mine who live on the island took me Outameni Experience. I was amazed and moved at what I saw - especially as the daughter of a Jamaican father. I cried and laughed and danced and felt so connected to my culture. It was an awesome experience and a must see for... More

This is a must do attraction for those who are interested in learning about Jamaica's history. The tour takes about 1 1/2 hours and takes visitors on a tour through various stages in Jamaica's history. At each stage is an actor or actress playing a character from that time period. Myself and a group of 17 who were touring the... More
