I was hesitant to push through with this as part of our 4-day tour and in hindsight, I was secretly very pleased to know that I did not have a choice but to join in. Our group was split into two 4x4 pick up trucks and after brief instructions and introductions, we were off. Our driver navigated the rough course... More

There are three sand dunes to choose from in Ilocos Norte (Paoay, Suba and La Paz). The nearest sand dunes is at La Paz.It took around 15minutes from city proper via tricycle ride cost Php 120 one way and better if you ask the tricycle driver (if you do not have your own vehicle/van hire) to wait since public transportation... You should ride the 4x4, and pair it with an amazing driver! It was really fun, it was like riding a roller coaster and bump ride combined! The sand surfing was not that fun though... but over all, worth the money!

Tourist spots in Laoag can be done in one day and La paz san dune is the perfect way to cap your day. Just to witness the sunset here is already an experience itself and combining it with an exciting 4x4 ride is absolutely fun!

Summer is not a good time to go if one is sensitive to hot and humid weather. Will be enjoyed by younger generation.

We went there last February as a group. The 4x4 ride and sand surfing would normally cost 2500, we got it for much less (I think around 1600); since one person in our group knows someone there so he was able to bargain for a good price. Pros: - the La Paz sand dunes is very nice (for picture taking... More
