whoever said the Philippines doesnt have deserts or sand dunes...you just have to know where to look. whether it's the proximity to the south china sea or the strong winds that regularly pass by, the topography and geologic wonder of ilocos gave birth to this unique site.

Beautiful scenery that can be seen in a 30 minutes ride. 2500 Php. Best to do late afternoon as it can be quite hot

It's amazing how Ilocos Norte has been blessed with so much stuff to do. The sand dunes for me is a MUST try! Situated near the river that leads to the West Philippine Sea (nice on pics), you will have to ride the Sand Dunes to the site where you sand board (which is why unlimited sand boarding is packaged... Full of excitement when you ride in a 4 x 4 jeep. Sand boarding is also okay and free. Visit that place early in the morning of late in the afternoon because temperature ranges from 38C to 40C during noon time.

Undoubtedly the only really exciting thing to do in sleepy Laoag city is the sand dune experience on a 4 X 4. Navigating the sand dunes here can take one's breath away, if only for the adrenalin rush and roller coaster excitement. The views, especially at sunset, are magnificent. The Paoay dunes are inferior and do not offer the undulation... More
