There are lots of reviews on here with really detailed descriptions of the day so I'll keep mine brief, it's as much fun as everyone says if not more fun; try to go in a big group as the more of you there are the better, you can all hook up when you float down the river to crate a... More

Being in the early twenties, I expected my second time around to Vang Vieng to be quite fun (in terms of tubing). However, the party has long vanished. Compared to the wildness and the extreme party atmosphere of pre 2012 Vang Vieng, it is quite a depressing sight to see that there are now only 4 bars which are now... More

It was OK, but nothing more than that. The water gets really cold after a while, so put on clothes or wet suit. The surroundings are awesome and the mountains are out of this world. It is also cheap, but so are most activities in Lao. It is OK to do once, but not something I would do several times.

Its been said already its a must do thing and that is totally true. 4 bars. All at the start. First bar is actually the starting point. After leaving last bar its about 90 mins til the end. You'll even hav to paddle a bit too. The river is slow right now that's why it takes so long. If you... More

We're 30 somethings on our honeymoon so the thought of spending a day with drunk, stoned teenagers is not our idea of fun. Also the danger element had me worried - however having already kayaked in Luang Prabang and knowing the water levels are low I wasn't as concerned. We actually went with a guide which was a guy in... More

Awesome its great but be careful don't leave too late because now in January the courant is really quiet. There are now like 4 or 5 bars they are all on the first kilometer so after you need a long time to return to vang vieng you got lots of thing to do (basket petanque ping pong beer pong volley... Fairly detailed reviews have been left but a few things to add...the first four bars are all v close and then there is nothing til the end. We went to the first three for one drink in each, then left at about 4 pm. We tubed all the way down, it was so gorgeous, but literally got back on the... More

If you are thinking about doing river tubing (which by the way you definitely should) then this should help plan your day. We left a little too late (12.30/1ish) and were some of the last to hit the river. This meant we were always arriving at bars as loads of people left (and also meant we arrived back late with... Relax while floating down the river in Vang Vieng. Get out to bar 1 2 and 3 for some drinks. Play beerpong, basket ball, volley ball, limbo (with fire sticks) and much much more. It's a full package and all you need to get is a tube from the town and a ride up the river with a tuk tuk.... More

Overhyped pub crawl along a river. Basically a several hour party depending on how much you want to drink. 3-4 bars give you a free shot, maybe 1-2 more bars open total. Really cold when the sun dips behind the mountain at like 430 but you can hire a tuktuk along the banks to drive you back in time to... More
