Tubing was one of the funnest part of the trip. We lived in a dorm and had made a huge group to go with over there. We started drinking even before we started tubing And it was bloody awesome. At first bar we were playing all sort of sports like volleyball, football, basketball, frisbee beer etc.. But by the time... More

This really fun trip was relaxing and enjoyable - it was only let down by the curfews and charges towards the end of the day. We left town at around 1.30pm and although a lot of the bars have now been closed down for safety reasons (there are four, the second is the best in our opinion) it still takes... More

Tubing is awesome. I went in March 2012 and it has been rumoured to have changed a lot since. The locals and the travellers were all really friendly and sociable. The views along the river are pretty amazing and admire them before you get too drunk. The night life was good and everyone headed to 3 main bars in the... More

If you want to get really drunk on very over priced cheap booze, and join a load of sun burnt obnoxious tourist offend locals by running round the streets in bikinis etc then this is for you.... Vang Vieng is trying to change its reputation of being a drinking destination, and has closed down most of its 'party bars', all... More

Do this early to get the best of the hot sun. We left the last bar around 3.30 and it was pretty cold. Bars are fun. Not crowded. Probably the time of year. Sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery

The staff are rude when you purchase the tube, but what can you do. You float down a river and get to drink at bars before floating to the next.... We got there late, at 4pm but it didn't matter. The second bar was fun and there were quite a few people there, but no where near as many as... More

We went tubing early in the afternoon and the bars had not yet filled up. All the bars are located within 500 m from the start of the tubing (apart from one tiny bar further down) and I guess they do so to make the tubers sober up on the 2 hours it takes to get to town but we... More

I went Tubing three times while in Vang Vieng. I absolutely loved it each time. Everyone says it's nowhere near as good as it was back in the day but if you didn't go then you have nothing to compare it to. The first bar is ok, plays good music and gives free shots. The second bar was my favourite,... More

I had thought that the place would be full of drunken backpackers, not the case at all. Just a chilled ride down a beautiful river with great scenery, there are just three bars. Shame the weather was a bit cloudy and cooler than we had anticipated but I can't blame anyone for that. Well worth the experience

A great day out whilst in the area, be prepared to spend the day doing the river and stopping off in the bars along the way, you are thrown a rope and they pull you in. I would take a plastic bag that you can buy on most shops in town to wear around your neck this will keep your... More
