Not the main attraction crocodiles are interesting. They have a big herd of turtles, what is possible enter among them and feed them: When you realize this animal are much older then you it seems to be very important keep such experience for next generations. You could enjoy delicious specialties, just the crocodile leather goods doesn’t fit to conservation attitude.

We had a good time with our 11 and 13 y.o. The place is not big, but not small either. What we like the most was the fact it was diversified. Giant Turtles and the nursery area where you can see the evolution from the egg to adult. Of course, crocodiles... But it's all the other non-expected we really enjoyed.... More

They say they have lver 2000 crocs. They must have been in giding or maybe l miscounted but unless they somehow counted each croc 10x then there were not 2000 crocs. The animal enclousers remind me of zoos from the 1960's with no concern for the animals. One mongoose was just going back and forth 10' from some rocks along... More

La Vanille is a jungle paradise outdoor wildlife zoo. The star attraction without doubt is the giant tortoise enclosure. There must be dozens of these giant, dignified, noble beasts sitting around, or mooching around, or, quite frequently, mating with noisy grunts (Picture two dustbins trying to mate), The tortoises are enormous - the size of a dining table and a... Nice place. We were there a hot day, air not moving, exhausting. A LOT of turtles. Sort of the most impressing was the insect collection, very huge. Well worth visiting! Went there with rental car. I think we drove around 30 km before we finally found the road to the place. There are really no signposts before you are almost... More

The aim is to breed and preserve these beautiful creatures. Most are being repatriated to a nearby island where the species was almost hunted to extinction many years ago.

The butterfly museum is fantastic: impressive collection. Interaction with the tortoises is just great, especially getting to pat and feed them. We made sure no adult climbed on them. The crocodiles are interesting but would have been impressive if they moved more. Still, if someone did not have the opportunity to see crocos in the wild, this park is a... More
