We visited the park on a Saturday morning which seems to be an ideal time as there aren't any large school parties and the entrance price is only 200 rupees. We got a taxi which is just as well as it would have been very difficult to find otherwise, the signs seemed to be a bit on the sparse side.... More

Well worth it just to see the giant tortoises, there's so many and you can walk among them and stroke them!

… once we found it. We may have driven through the same market on 2/3 occasions before we found it - our Sat Nav certainly seemed unsure! Better road signage would be a good start! Once there, however, we enjoyed our walk around. The highlight is most definitely the tortoises - the fact you could feed them, take your picture... More

Loved feeding the giant tortoises, and liked walking through the place, not too keen on all the crocodiles! Good little gift shop for some souvenirs to bring home too.

The park is located just outside Riviere des Angiulles, just follow the signs along a big sugar cane field. Entrance fee during weekends is 200 Mr (4 GBP), more expensive during weekdays (350 Mr). The giant tortoises area is worth alone the visit: you can walk among tens of tortoises and feed them, it is a great experience and really... More

We loved it! You can see giant tortoises as well as huge collection of crocodiles - from egg to proper adults. In their bar we tried crocodile fritters, which was cool. Many exotic animals you will not see in England.

Was not looking forward to this visit but was really impressed with this small zoo . Mainly tortoise where there are literally hundreds, of all different sizes. Plus crocodiles too. It was well run, animals appear to be well looked after and it was well laid out. Definitely worth a visit.

La Vanille scores highly for its cleanliness, notwithstanding the presence of so many tortoises, crocodiles and other animals. Interact with the tortoises, including 95 year old Domino. You may need to forgive the tortoises the odd snooze. Crocodiles are also quite passive in their tropical home. Guided tours are included in the price and provide the opportunity to ask more... More

We spent a lazy afternoon here, a decent place (about 500 rupees entry each) and lots of animals to see, most of which have decent space and appear well cared for. Some need more space and this should be addressed. The star turns were the giant tortoises, there are loads of them and they are so cool. Didn't like the... More
