Our family of three -- 2 adults and our 7-year-old daughter -- did a half-day canyoneering trip with Zion Mountain School last month. We had such an amazing time! This was absolutely one of the highlights of our trip to Zion and Bryce.

Full day canyoneering trip w/ Caleb and Julia to Birch Hollow. Never canyoneered before, but my wife and I became a pro under Caleb's guidance and Julia's encouragement. Arrive at the shop at 8am and return at 6pm. Felt safe the whole time and got to see Zion better than any hiking trails out there. Highly recommend this trip b/c... More

We did a half day canyoneering tour with Celab, first of all, he is such a pleasant person, patience and professional. We did the snake valley canyon, the trip was a lot of fun, has a good variety of climbing, rappelling and squeezing through 'slot canyon'. The trip lasted four hours with a good hour on the road, I wished... More

Just returned from a full day of canyoneering with my family (including parents in their 60s). All I can say is that this place is amazing -- our guide Ethan was incredibly knowledgable, highly trained, and took us on an adventure we won't forget. The equipment was all in great shape, and with no prior experience canyoneering, we felt safe... More

I was traveling through Zion, found Zion Mountain School on tripadvisor, and gave them a call - so happy I did! With short notice, Mike worked out a great canyoneering trip for me that catered to my schedule and was exactly what I was looking for. This was a highlight of my trip to Utah. Mike was a great guide... More

We had a great time with our guide Ethan from Zion Mountain School. One thing to know is that guides are not allowed to take groups into the park - so our climbing was outside of the Zion's National Park boundaries. It didn't bother me at all though, because we climbed and repelled the same rock formations that the park... More

My wife and I were inexperienced at canyoneering but as Utah residents and frequent visitors to Zion, we were ready to learn. ZMS was a great choice to start learning. Mike took us on a full day trip into Water Canyon and did a great job of instructing. It was fun but he provided the tools for us to learn... More

Our group of 3 signed up for the full day canyoneering trip. I did a lot of research on all of the available guide companies before hand and I definitely feel like I selected the best with Zion Mountain School. Ethan was our guide and he was excellent. He took us to Water Canyon and it was amazing. He was... More

I signed up for the half day canyoneering trip and our guide was Mike. Mike was great; he's a highly experienced certified guide and knew the area well. The drive was a bit long to get there but it was well worth it - the canyons were beautiful. We went on two rappel's and each step of the way, Mike... More

I'll start by saying that our guide, Mike, was very friendly, professional and helpful. However, there was very little "Zion" in our Zion Mountain School experience. We signed up for the full day canyoneering. The website implies that we will venture through Zion National Park and shows many pictures and videos of beautiful running water canyons which run year-long in... More
