We stopped here to rent equipment to hike the Narrows. They were very friendly and helpful. The staff provided valuable information. Prices were very reasonable.

We arrived at 8am at the Zion Mountain School to prepare for our trip. We were warmly greeted by Mike, one of the co-owners of the shop. We opted for the 3 day backcountry trip to which we added equipment rental and food. Mike gave incredibly careful attention to safely accommodate my daughter's tree-nut allergy, when selecting all of our... More

They have whatever you need to forge the narrows and more.. but be careful they close up at 7:00 pm (there is sun and hiking until 9:00) and you have to return the gear by closing or early next AM.

Rented equipment for the narrows, as a couple. It was stick and neopren socks and shoes for the river. We had a great day but above all, the support and information from the staff was very friendly and useful. Did not do more than that with them.

I was traveling solo in Zion and wanted to try out canyoneering. After calling a few places, I liked that the person I spoke with at ZMS was so friendly, informative, and patient with my laundry list of questions. She also genuinely wanted to know what I was looking for (maximum adventure!) and matched me with a guide who delivered.... More

Friends had told us to do a family canyoneering trip in Zion so we used TripAdviser and found ZMS after the first place I called didn't answer. Our family was SO happy with the half-day trip. We had kids age 6&8 - one of which was afraid of heights, along with me. Our guide Caleb was super encouraging, patient, and... More

Having never rock climbed we decided that Utah seemed like a great place to try. We found Zion Mountain School on line and booked a 1/2 day rock climbing excursion. Right from the start it was wonderful, our guide Steffan was very informative and patient. On the car ride to Saint George he told us about the Utah area and... More

I felt safe in the hands of the 'Zion Mountain School' My husband and I booked the half day (4-5hrs) Canyoneering trip. We had no experience and wasn't sure if we were going to enjoy it but it turned out to be fantastic experience. Our guide (I think his name is Stephan) was patient and went at our pace and... More

My husband and I had no experience and a healthy fear of heights. But we wanted to try something new so we decided to try canyoneering. Ethan was our guide. He was excellent. I would ask for him if you can. He was very patient and gave good instructions. We were pretty nervous but we went to a small drop... More

My husband did a half-day slcikrock mountain bike ride with ZMS. It was only my husband and one of the owners of ZMS for the ride and my husband couldn't have been happier with his choice of companies. He had a fantastic day!
