We hiked to the dome from Glacier Point and it was a nice moderate hike with some great photo opportunities. The view up top is pretty spectacular, but unfortunately the clouds rolled in and we lost all visibility.

The trail to Sentinel Dome was not extremely difficult as compared to others. it is relatively short and the altitude gain is gradual, except for a short section near the top. The view from atop was extraordinary. Could see El Capital, Half Dome, Nevada Falls, Vernal Falls, Yosemite Falls, surrounding mountains and valleys. Stayed on top for over one hour....

Very short on parking - but can park above and meet up with the park superb views from the top - well worth the walk and climb at the end - which is OK to walk
It is debatable whether this viewpoint is better .. but it is no disappointment. One guarantee is that there will be fewer tourists. This 2 mile hike is not strenuous. You will be pleased with your choice. Mid-Afternoon summer sun is the best time for photographs - and there some great ones!
This is a very short hike of only 2 miles round trip and well worth the effort to get there. It isn't a difficult hike and the views from the top are stunning. Bring your camera!
This is a moderate hike with big rewards at the end. Sentinel provides a terrific 360 degree view of the Park and for group photos, nothing beats having Half Dome as a back drop.
The views are freakin' amazing ! Go early(to avoid sharing the Dome with too many people) to fool yourself into thinking you hiked for days to get there. It's an easy, well marked hike except for the last scramble up the Dome but SOOOOOO worth it !
A friend and I recently hiked up Sentinel Dome. The trailhead is on Glacier Point road not far form the end of the road. There is ample parking. This is without a doubt the most rewarding view in Yosemite. A rather tiresome walk takes you up this dome, on which you will feel like you're standing on top of the world. Not too crowded, so you'll have some peace and quiet to enjoy the 360 overview.
