Park visitors are welcome to walk around the hotel; no dress code for entering hotel, only for the main dining room. Sit in one of the many public area; order a drink from the bar and find a comfy chair or sofa. Bring a book and sit on the second floor which overlooks the main floor and large fireplaces. Beautiful to visit, even if you're not able to stay there! The gift shops are great, and the lounge areas are so inviting. A must visit.

This is what Disney's Grand Californian is modeled after, as well as other hotels around the world. You will not be disappointed with the service or the views. Everything is world class!

Take a look around the hotel even if you aren't staying here, maybe even have breakfast or lunch. (appropriate dress and reservations are required for dinner.) They have one of the most beautiful dining rooms ever made in the lodge style. The common areas are lovely and check out the walk-in fire places (not literally walk-in, but they are big... More

This hotel would be a destination even if it were not set in the relentless beauty of Yosemite Park. The thought and detail that went into this hotel will awe and inspire you. The Ahwahnee is so full of artful detail that they do tours; you can find out from the Yosemite daily newsletter when those tours will be held.... More

The history behind this iconic hotel is wonderful. Also, I highly recommend the Bracebridge Dinner (in December) as a once in a lifetime experience!

Even if you don't stay here, plan on at least one night for dinner. Arrive early and enjoy the bar and walk around the premises. Lots of history to enjoy.

The building is great; open to the public; fantastic views through the tall windows; restaurant is okay; wish they would serve hot milk with the hot coffee and tea.

Go there, just to walk thru when you visit Yosemite. You won't be disapointed. We went because a friend said it was a must.I am glad that we did.

The Ahwahnee is a must see. I love its Indian motif, all the stained class, its large grand dining room and grand sitting area. We browsed for two hours in this historic Hotel. We also sat out back in the wooden recliners to enjoy the deer resting on the lawn. Then we had lunch in the grand dining room. Everything... More
