Everyone said that you MUST eat at the Ahawahnee...and while it was good, I don't know that it a MUST. If you are staying there, definitely. But we were staying in West Yosemite, so we had to change into our "dressy" clothes in the car to keep from wasting 2 hours driving. The food was good, better than in most... More

This is a great Hotel within the park. A must see to relax and get a bite to eat. We did not stay here but would consider.

A beautiful hotel. We visited to see the architecture and the grounds. For a family of 5, the accommodations were not affordable....even though we typically like to stay in historic hotels.

So much history in the place you can almost feel it seep from the walls. We paid more for a night than I have ever paid for a hotel room, even in NYC. But it was worth it. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Waking to a magnificent view of the valley wall was breathtaking. Go explore the grand halls,... More

Take a few minutes to stop at the Ahwahnee Hotel while touring Yosemite National Park -- it's a grand place! We took our time to see the public areas and stroll the grounds. A friendly fellow who seems to stay often and who knew the history of the hotel and its structure told us about the building. This is definitely... More

Love that the architect made sure the hotel blended with the environment. Great hotel and lots of history. We did stay here for 2 nights and you definitely pay for the location. Our room had a view of half dome and glacier point.

The Ahwahnee Hotel is situated in an amazingly beautiful spot on earth. We had other accommodations for the night while we visited Yosemite, but we spent some time looking around inside the Ahwahnee. Fantastic place!

Why has our family stayed at the Ahwahnee 20+ times over 23 years? Because it is YOSEMITE! Yes, the Ahwahnee is terribly overpriced, but we pay it year after year after year. Why? Because you can literally walk out the door and start hiking. Why? Because you can sit in the Great Hall in front of a roaring fire (or... More

Situated inside the Yosemite National Park, this saved the day for us as we found no parking in the official parking spots at Yosemite. So we parked our car here, and had lunch.

We were able to see a couple of the rooms that have always been blocked off in the past. This hotel is beautifully decorated with historic, period furniture. Just wonderful
