Worth the visit. We went twice. Once for lunch which was very nice and once in the late afternoon. Get a bottle of wine and sit out on the benches and enjoy the view. Beautiful place.

This would be a very biased review. I am not a fan of old places, forts, historic hotels. I like natural beauty more. Hence, I think this is am ok place. However, if you like large rooms decorated and filled with furniture, paintings, memorabilia of the past this is the place for you. We did grab a drink from the... More

The Ahwahnee Hotel is magical! It is outrageously majestic! We didn't stay there overnight, but walked the premises and ate lunch at the hotel's restaurant at one of their outdoor tables. The surroundings included singing birds, hopping bunny rabbits across the expansive lawn, and grey squirrels searching the pines for nuts. I had a Pastrami Reuben on a brioche bun... More

I read that the hotel has only 1/3 of the rooms that were originally planned. When we visited we realized that the space for rooms was wasted on a huge lounge area - there was only 1 person there when we visited, a huge conservancy - beautiful but why wasn't that a restaurant area?, several meeting rooms - who goes... We have stayed at the Ahwahnee in the past and this time went to a private party in The Mural Room. The food and service was excellent and the room is filled with the history of the building and the valley. An amazing experience. It's always a good day when one gets to enjoy the Ahwahnee.

Even if you don't stay here it is a must to see. Stroll around the grounds, have lunch in the dining room with 60' ceilings and visit all the rooms, taking time to sit in the grand room. It's an amazing architectural wonder with lots of history.

When I think of Yosemite, The Ahwahnee Hotel comes to mind every time. There's so much history, beauty, peacefulness in this hotel. The dining room is spectacular with the views. Wish I could say the food is consistantly excellent and a good value, but I cannot. It's very expensive for what you get. So if you just want to sit... More

Beautiful Hotel, just too expense for me to stay there, but I have eaten in the dinning room and at the patio bar, and shopped in the shops. Also one year got to take a tour and that was great
