We have stayed here 2 different times and it is old but not run down. Would love to stay again. Beautiful and classic

The Ahwahnee is a fantastic place to eat lunch. The service is exceptional and so is the food. It's a classy place, so we dress up even if we are riding bikes.

We stayed in a cottage at the Ahwanhnee. It was a short walk through the woods to get there. The setting was lovely, but the room itself was not spectacular. It was clean and comfortable and everything worked properly, but the air conditioner was loud at night. We liked being away from the main building because it felt a little... More

First, its always nice to be in Yosemite. Secondly, the number of rooms in Yosemite are very limited - i.e. many people call a year in advance just for the chance of staying in Yosemite Valley. Third, the Ahwahnee is a historic lodge built in the 1920s. As such, it has historic charm. The dining room is awesome place especially... More

I have no idea what all these great reviewers see in this place. I guess it beats camping out but for $600 per night you would expect a bit more than sleeping in a tent!! The rooms are old and dirty. AC sounds like an old tuck engine. The cafe's food is mediocre at best and very expensive($17 for a... More

It is the Ahwanhee after all. Best pool ever - forest on one side and mountains on the other. Had a great room in the main hotel with the half dome framed in the window. Staff are all very attentive and helpful. Beautiful building. Nice dinner and excellent breakfast

Even if you aren't staying at the Ahwahnee because of the cost, you can still step in and enjoy the splendid decorations and beautiful great room. It's wonderful. If you can, eat at the restaurant and enjoy the delicious food.

beautiful setting, fantasic service, fabulous time. We had hors d'vors on the patio, dined in the solarium, danced in the Winter room and had breakfast in the Grand hall.

If this is your first visit to Yosemite National Park and you want a general overview of the important things to see then this is an excellent general tour of the valley floor. We were staying at The Ahwahnee Hotel and the tour leaves from Yosemite Falls at The Lodge which is at Shuttle stop number 8. The shuttle is... More

If there is one thing that everyone who comes to Yosemite should see, but might not, it's the Great Room at the Ahwahnee Hotel. This room is filled with artifacts of the Native Americans who lived in this area; has very comfortable furniture for just sitting; and is a joy for people watching. In the afternoon, they serve tea and... More
