Our guide, Greg, tailored our hike perfectly. His knowledge about Yosemite history educated us. He helped us discover areas we would never find alone. We appreciate his respect for nature and his courage to rock-climb the majestic peaks. More

After a year of indoor climbing lessons and practice, we took the first outdoor climbing lesson up in Tuolumne Meadows. Worth it. Turns out crack climbing was too painful for me and my not-normal feet! :( But the instructor was great, and you can hire these folks to take you on guided trips into the backcountry for hikes, as well... We signed up for the Beginner class, but it ended up being just me and my boyfriend, and we have had some indoor climbing experience already. So Scott asked if we were up for "a little more adventure" and we said Yes! He took us on a 6-pitch climb, and it was so cool! Difficult in a couple of spots,... More

Everything was done so very well. The guides were patient and at the same time attentive to safety. Sometimes a bit rough around the edges is a great thing. Totally pro, and explained everything including the history of climbing. The climbs were simple in the begining and for thoes that wanted a bigger challenge they set up a tough climb... More

Had an amazing weekend (climb and hike) with the Yosemite Mountaineering school. The program "girls on granite" was very professional. I was really impressed the the knowledge and dedication of the instructor (Hope). The entire staff is amazing. More

We booked a private guide through the Yosemite Mountaineering School during our stay in Yosemite in September 2006. There were two of us, with one guide. Our guide was Hope Wolf, and we were extremely happy with her and with our experience. We booked by calling the mountaineering school directly a few weeks in advance of our trip (since we... More

The whole learning experience was great. The instructors at the Yosemite Mountaineering School were very experienced, patient and friendly. I went with my whole family (5 members total). Ages 13, 24,26,38 and 50. All of us had a wonderful experience, regardless of the different age groups. On the basic class, you do not "climb" a mountain all day, if you... More
