After we'd done a lot of hiking we wanted a different activity. Because of the drought wild water rafting wasn't an option and an entire day of rock climbing would probably be too much. In the end we chose for horse riding through Yosemite Park. It probably all sounds more exciting than it really is. The shortest time you can... More

If you like horses (or in my case a mule) this is a wonderful way to see some of the beauty that Yosemite has to offer. I took the two hour Mirror Lake Tour. It was nice to hear some added information about everything and the story behind Mirror Lake was very interesting. I was a little sore from the... More

I'm sure you've read many reviews of the peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Of course it is, it's Yosemite. But I'm here to tell you about my mule. I've ridden horses since I was a kid. I'm expert but I know how to get them to go, stop, back up left right all that. Well, if you learned how to ride... More

We did the four hour ride. New rode about two hours, stopped and hiked to the top of the falls, then returned to the stables. This is fine for even the beginner. The mules could be stubborn but that was half the fun. Beautiful scenery. We did learn that some group has managed to step in and cause the removal... More

Tuolumne Meadows Stable 4 hour horseback ride. We went on this after much anxiety and few mixed reviews to be found. We had a great time! No cliffhangers. Gentle ride on mule over grassy meadows, mountain streams and beautiful overlooks. Highly recommend. This is last year they will be doing this because park service shutting them down for polluting the... More

Booked the 2 hour ride and arrived an hour early as instructed. Spent half that time watching the wranglers bring enough horses out for the guests- which felt a bit useless. The guides on our ride were friendly and shared interesting stories of the beautiful area. And no cutting this ride short-- you get two long hours in the saddle!... More

Excellent trip made great by guide Scotty!! Only for experienced horseback riders because the trail is very treacherous-you are riding the John Muir trail that the hikers use, so you encounter people unfamiliar with how to act around horses/mules that do not read livestock/hiker rule signs at beginning of trail. Trail also has alot of rock/slate to maneuver over(amazing how... More

Sadly we had to cancel our trip last minute due to ilness, they were so understanding, hated to let them down but they were super reasonable! Highly recommend! Great if you are staying at Tenaya Lodge, just round the corner! From the Windsors

We were looking forward to the horse / mule ride - it was fairly expensive and needed booking in advance. It was also pretty busy. Overall - very enjoyable - but because it was summer holidays, and because its family friendly (the reason we were there indeed) there was lots of kids on the trail. The first howls of laughter...
