We signed up with Wolf Tracker, not knowing what to expect. We were delighted with our tour, and our guide, Macneil, was both knowlegable and a gracious host. We threw all kinds of questions at him, and he always provided us with well reasoned answers and some very interesting stories. They provided some great snacks as well! The day was... More

We recently spent two days in Yellowstone with MacNeil from Wolf Tracker/The Wild Side and had a great time. It gave us an opportunity to see things we would have never seen on our own and to understand what we were seeing in a way we would have never had otherwise. He was able to spot a coyote in a... Don't hesitate to spend the time and money for this great wildlife tour with Yellowstone Wolf Tracker! Everything about the day was perfect. Great communication before our trip, timely pick up, and a very enthusiastic and knowledgable wildlife guide, Macneal. Without a doubt, we saw far more wildlife than we would have had we been on our own. Our trip... More

This February trip with the Wild Side is my 7th winter trip, not including the fall campout I did one year. For me, there is no other experience to equal their unique package. This particular one places you in Lamar Valley, the heart of wildlife watching. The site is the historic Lamar Buffalo Ranch, where food is catered by the... More

My wife and I have always wanted to see wolves in the wild and finally we succeeded with the help of McNeil Lyons, one of the guides at Wolftracker.com McNeil was not only an excellent guide, full of local knowledge and enthusiasm for his wildlife, but also good company. We saw wolves on 2 of the 3 days we spent... More

This was our first experience with an organized retreat/vacation, so we didn’t know what to expect. Nathan and Linda were very personable and knowledgeable since they have spent most of their adult lives working in Yellowstone. Both were part of the wolf reintroduction in 1994. Mornings were spent looking for and watching wolves and afternoons were optional snow shoe related... More

I just returned from my fifth trip with Yellowstone Wolf Tracker/The Wild Side and I cannot say enough good things about my experience. The trip I did was the Winter Wolf Watch and it included four days at the Lamar Buffalo Ranch in the Park. Our accommodations, while rustic, were incredibly comfortable and clean, and the heated bath house with hot... More

I'm an avid wildlife traveler. I've been on safaris in africa, galapagos, Alaskan wildlife viewing trip, Corcovado in costa rica, amazons, etc... I travel many times a year. And this was truly as good if not better than all of my other trips. I've been to yellowstone every season except winter until now. I'd heard winter is special, and it... More

My husband and I are professional photographers and wanted to see Yellowstone in the winter. So I reserved Yellowstone Wolf Tracker (aka Wild Side) for a private photography tour. So happy that we did! MacNeil Lyons was our guide. He is EXTREMELY knowledgable and wonderful at finding animals that we wouldn't have found on our own. We only had him... More

On a recent trip (Jan 9-14, 2015) with guides Nathan Varley and MacNeil Lyons, we saw wolves every day, and lots of other wildlife as well. Nathan/MacNeil knew where to look, they each have a long history in YNP, each is soft-spoken, and they don't take political positions (at least not with their guests) on a number of wildlife controversies...
