For over 20 years we have been showing our guests the absolute best way to experience the natural wonders of Yellowstone National Park by kayaking away from the crowds on Yellowstone Lake or Lewis and Shoshone Lakes. Established in 1872, Yellowstone National Park is America’s first national park, and one of the best inland paddling destinations in the world. The clear water and high mountain lakes of the greater Yellowstone area provide a truly unique kayaking experience. Yellowstone is home to a large variety of wildlife including grizzly bears, wolves, bison, and elk. Preserved within Yellowstone is the largest concentration of active geysers in the world – approximately half of the world’s total.Paddling away from the crowds you will see a side of Yellowstone few ever do. « less

We recently (Sept. 20, 2013) with a guide named Grant at Yellowstone Geyser Kayak Day Tours on Lake Yelowstone. The weather was very cold 28* and very sunny. The water was calm,/mirro like, beautiful and you could see the bottom in many areas.. We kayak 7.5 miles one way around the lake passing the active geysers venting and oozing. We... More

Kayaking and seeing the geothermal activities for a worldly paddler was quite interesting. We had a friendly knowledgeable guide who paced our tour with the group and yet made it a unique experience individually.

So we were going to Yellowstone, and I wanted to find a few select activities to splurge on. I came across the Geyser Kayak Tours website and found the Sunset Paddle tour listed. It was $125 a person, which is a HUGE sum for renting a kayak for 2 just hours. But the beautiful image of a purple and gold... More

I booked our trip back in February. Somebody contacted me almost right away, remember they were closed. So can't complain about that. My husband and I were there in July. As it turned out we were the only ones in the group, besides the 2 guides. The information he knew, sorry I forget his name was over whelming! But very... More

We -- a three-generation family group of six -- booked our day tour (9-2ish) with Geyser Kayak well in advance, after a long series of emails back and forth about various details, and I really appreciated the guy's patience. (Though I do wish their website could accept credit card payments directly.) When we arrived at the Grant Village boat launch... More

The Geyser Kayak Tours was a great experience. Steve (our guide) was extremely knowledgable about kayaking as well as Yellowstone park and the surrounding area. The group ended up being six people (7 including Steve). There were various degrees of skill sets yet we were all well accommodated! The best meal we had in Yellowstone was the lunch provided by... I have no idea what an actual tour with these folks is like, but I do know they have problems with complicated mathematical concepts like the calendar. They called me to confirm a trip, then called back an hour later to cancel it because they were confused by the difficult job of matching up the meaning of "tomorrow" with a... More

Very sorry we were unable to accommodate you on such short notice. When our staff called you back within the hour to inform you that we had no space on the following day, it is not our fault you didnt respond until after 9pm. And when you did call us back, you were incredibly rude, telling my employee to go... More

We took a trip with two others and the guide in September 2011. We needed an early start to get over from Canyon Village via the Hayden Valley and the lakeshore, with great wildlife spotting opportunities en route. We met the guide and other kayakers in the car park and were kitted out with gloves, bouyancy aids, paddles and kayaks.... More

We had limited time so we only did the Sunset tour but we still got to see quite a lot. We got to see bald headed eagles close up, ravens eating a deer carcass with what must be the mother watching and grieving nearby, elk wandering along the West Thumb and we even got to kayak over a dormant underwater...
