We entered Yellowstone via West Yellowstone and this drive was the next thing. After seeing all of the park I realized that this little drive was a waste of time compared to everything else to see. But, if you want to do the drive instead of the Grand Loop road then you decide.

We just wandered down Firehole Canyon Drive, and pulled off the road to take a walk down to the falls. We ended up spending an hour walking across logs, climbing up rocks, and enjoying hte scenery. It was a great stop!

One of the must sees in Yellowstone np. Of the four visitor centers we visited, this was by far the most crowded. I recommend getting there early. We arrived early and parked fairly close. We took 10 am ranger tour and we watched the eruption from Chinese laundry geyser. It was spectacular. We also went up to the overlook. We... More

Easy drive with beautiful scenery along the river. Lots of pull outs to get out of the car and enjoy the view.

The views were stunning...until we realized the road was being melted from underneath...by the active volcano. The next day we noticed the road was marked as closed. It put the whole area in perspective as constantly evolving and changing based on the activity of the volvano below.

We stopped here to drink and beer, and so glad we did. While there a mother duch and 8 little ones got caught up in the rapids. The mother had to shepherd them through the falls. She would fly over and honk at the babies to follow her. After a while one would go, and soon after the others followed.... More

Cannot really se the point of the investment of this area. I guess it gives the kids a chance to swim. Photo opportunity is average and the drive was ok

Saw the most wildlife on this drive. A must stop on a warm day, pull over and soak in the warm water to refresh yourself. Some places you can fly fish although the water temp in some locations not the best

With a little one we found this a little start / stop in / out and for the distance would have liked a trial to follow, but you can see Great Fountain Geyser which is incredible when it blows. we got a "kiss" which was a highlight of our visit.

This drive just south of the Madison junction is lovely with the blackness of the firehole river rapids, the falls and one of the few places where there is swimming in the park. We were a bit disappointed that although campers & buses were discouraged, we saw one stopped at the falls,
