We saw this road as we were going towards Old Faithful from West Yellowstone. It was a loop that would allow to bypass some traffic on the road. The canyon is amazing as well as the river. About mid-way on the loop is a swimming area with parking and restrooms. The water looked amazing! We probably would have gone in... More

This is a great drive and don't forget your bathing suit! Go for a swim in the swimming area. If you have young children, like under 12 years or who are not strong swimmers, put a life jacket on them. The swimming is fantastic, however there is a strong current. My family had a great time. We all wore shoes... More

Don't forget about swimming in the river at the end of the drive! The water wasn't hot, but because of the springs upstream the water was pool temperature. Went swimming here and it was a blast! Others have written about the swimming under the activity "Firehole River" but that's confusing. The only swimming is at the end of Firehole Canyon... More

A narrow road, overrated in my opinion. Many other more interesting places to visit in and around the park

This off the main road drive is very much worth the time. It is a one-way paved road, so travel by auto is good. The gorge, river and falls are Very pretty, a smaller version of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. While you may go to Yellowstone for the geysers, you need to leave time for the scenery. It is... This was a nice, short excursion that connect back to the grand loop. You can see some interesting features without ever leaving the car.

This is a nice drive with pullovers where you can swim. The water is warm but you might have trouble finding parking. There is also a waterfall worth stopping to look at. If you are going to see the geothermal features, make this a short side trip.

It is a couple of mile loop off the main road from Old Faithful to Madison Junction. There is an abundance of thermal springs, small geysers and steam vents. They are not too crowded, and are worth seeing

If you're not careful, you'll skip this drive and miss a beautiful waterfall. Even better... not buses.
