We've been to the zoo a few times now and it just seems smaller and smaller the more we go. The animals seem better cared for than in the past, though the prices go up and up. One of the great parts was the farmers stand just outside the zoo! You can definitely get more bang for your buck elsewhere... More

It is a very nice zoo, but the variety of animals is not much. If you are in the region, it is nice to visit, but not a place you would go out of the way for.

My granddaughter went there what a horrific experience for her some of the animals didn't have water or food. In sun.. She wanted to help them we bought two buckets of food and two bottles of milk. wanted to animals was breathing so fast. She thought the animal was done with no water she went to get a worker to... Went there with two granddaughters who were not surprisingly, taken with the sheep who clamored and shoved each other around to get the food morsels. We took the "hayride" which was fun and gave a closer exposure to even more animals.

I only went here once and I am accustomed to metropolitan zoos in several countries. This is small and probably better from a child's perspective. Less happening with the animals.

Reston zoo is great to see how your kids like interacting with a petting zoo or even large animals before committing to the trip downtown. The animals are right up close and it is a fun and memorable experience

My first impression from the parking lot was that someone decided to turn their backyard into a zoo. Admission is on the high side: $12.95 adults and $9.95 kids 2-12. Staff push you to buy animal food packs as you walk in. Because there's several opportunities for close encounters (e.g., ducks, goats, etc), you should buy some. The parakeets in... More

This place is great! There is staff everywhere answering questions and showing you animals to pet. You can feed sheep, goats, etc. in the petting barn that has plenty of room and hand washing stations. The highlight for me was walking into the bird enclosure and feed birds that fly to your hand! The prices are very reasonable, When compared... More

My husband and I took our 3 kids, ages,6, 3 and 10 months at the Reston zoo last week. Our visit was fun but we thought it was overpriced. We saw cute animals but it wasn't worth the amount that they charge. Why on earth do they feel the need to charge $$$ customers to feed the animals? Shouldn't that... More

If you go here expecting to find lions and tigers and bears, you'll be sorely disappointed. It's more of an overpriced petting zoo with a few exotic animals thrown in for good measure. It would probably be great for kids under age 7 who can run around and see animals they wouldn't typically see. We went with a group of... More
