Holly is a natural guide and her horses are well-trained to give you a great Black Hills experience. It is obvious that the horses are loved and nurtured. This is a great southern hills destination for awe inspiring vistas and canyons. Holly keeps it personal so you won't share the experience with a large group. We had a beautiful ride... More

I had the pleasure of riding with a close friend, who owns a neighbouring ranch, on Holly's reliable and footsure quarter horses over two days at the end of October 2014. As a change from the normal hacking I do regularly in the U.K. it was a relaxing way to view the very dramatic scenery, whilst exploring deep canyons and... More

My husband and I took a wonderful, privately guided 3 hour horseback ride through hundreds of acres of beautiful South Dakota land! We traversed trails, dry creek beds, woods and open plains with views as far as Wyoming and Nebraska! The owner and guide, Holly, was very knowledgeable, safe and fun to ride with, and her sweet horses were very... More

This place is about 1 1/2 hours away from Rapid City, 30 minutes from either Custer or Hot Springs. If you follow Holly's directions on the website, you will not get lost. Take notice of your surroundings though. Once you turn at the Firehouse, the road to Sage Meadow is all gravel. My Husband and I took 79 south from... More

Visiting Custer State Park I could not do the nose to tail trail ride. My friend had only been on a horse once and I am a rider. We had a fantastic ride. My friend had a great "riding lesson" while enjoying the ride and I just rode like a trail ride I have always done. It was like being... More

We loved this experience! My husband is not an experienced rider at all, and I had not been on a horse for quite a few years. The horses were calm, yet you still had to tell them what to do and where to go, unlike some riding experiences where the horses have done the same trail day in and day... More

I'd recommend this ride to all ages and experience levels. Holly is so warm and engaging and does it right....horses are well trained and she gives instruction to everyone's comfort level. The ride is picturesque and I can;t enough about it. You gotta try it!

What a great riding experience with Holly. She is wonderful with her horses, made my daughter and me feel very comfortable and showed us an amazing ride and scenery. The stables are spotless and the horses beautiful. Would highly recommend Holly and Sage Meadow Ranch. A highlight of our trip to the Black Hills. Thanks Holly for a wonderful experience!... More
