Sage Meadow Ranch is a very special place. Holly and Dave are amazing! The horses were so gentle and full of personality. We are beginners and Holly made us feel so comfortable. My son said it was an experience that he will remember for the rest of his life (This was his first time on a horse) The scenery was... More

This is not your typical tourist horseback ride. This is an authentic horse riding experience that will remind you of any old western TV show you've watched (minus the outlaws). Holly does a great job of instructing and preparing you for the ride. The adventure takes you through beautiful meadows, trees, peaks and valleys. If you want the real deal,... More

I will be back here again for sure. I would strongly recommend this if you like creating lasting memories. This is no run of the mill tourist operation, you are in your own group and that's it! Holly took care of us and was flexible on times to accommodate weather. We had a couple of hours riding though stunning countryside,... More

We were on a 23 day family road trip and I think this made it into everyone's top five of things we did on the trip. Holly and Dave gave our family of four a private ride. It was truly a beautiful experience that we will never forget. The only complaint I have is that we may never be able... More

I am a riding novice. But I thoroughly enjoyed being able to "pilot" my horse Amarillo with just a little instruction. Holly is really great, she showed me how to communicate with my horse and encouraged me to ride, not just follow the horse ahead. It really was great and gave me a good feeling for what it was like... More

The Sage Meadow Ranch is doing it right! Holly and her wrangler Devon were great hosts. Our family of four has had minimal riding experience (like once or even never before). They outfitted us all with horses that were a good match for our abilities. Holly was really good about getting us all accommodated to each other (horse and rider,... More

This place is gorgeous and the horses aren't just horses, they're family. Holly and her fantastic wranglers Jess, Taren, and Jason are knowledgable and provide a fun and friendly trail ride. The trail is challenging and you really get to ride the horse instead of just sitting in a line. Best trail riding I've ever done. A must do when... More

Our family took a trip through Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and back through the Black Hills and Badlands. We went to the top of mountains, white water rafting, caving, hiking, climbing, etc., and we all agree that the highlight of our trip was horseback riding with Sage Meadow Ranch. While amateurs, we have been on numerous trail rides, which have always... More

I booked over the phone with Holly for the morning of the 4th. We discussed my skill level (very minimal!) but Holly felt I would be able to handle the 3 hour ride. Since it is quite hot in July we agreed to an 8 am start rather than the usual 9. I appreciated Holly's flexibility. Although the booking is... More
