I go to fine art museums all the time and this one was worth the trip (from another state). I'm not a fan of contemporary art but even some of their works were interesting to me. Plus the special exhibits were quite special. The museum itself if free and parking is quite cheap.

Wow! Great exhibit on Pop art.... Good explanations of what the artist was doing at the time and why. Put it in good historical perspective too. Definitely worth your time.

The Cincinnati Art Museum has free admission to the general exhibits, a great restaurant to eat lunch and hosts some incredible special exhibits that are generally worth the modest entrance fee. My favorites have been the Petra Jordan and Treasures from the Titanic exhibits.

We love spending part of a day at the Cincinnati Museum of Art, especially in winter when many out door activities are curtailed. The Cincinnati Art Museum currently is showing Beyond Pop Art: A Tom Wesselmann Retrospective 10-31-2014 to 1-18-2015 . Tom Wesselmann (2-23-1931 to 12-17-2004) was born in Cleveland but graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree... More

Essentially I had a break between meetings and I wandered away just to see what I could see of Cincinnati by daylight. Walked in, spent a short time there and then had to hurry back to my meetings. I left quietly impressed, and vowed to come back and spend more time there. Haven't managed so far. One day...

The CAM is a bit small and somewhat cramped from what we're used to (Indianapolis Museum of Art). There are still a few 'wow' pieces; an unusual O'Keeffe, a Van Gogh unknown to us for instance. It doesn't really have the feel of a Museum of Art, though.
