Excellent way to present history to children

We went into the monument and up the steps to see the sights in and around the area, so interesting to see history this way.

This is inside the park. This place really stands out with the rolling hills in front. Beautiful monument.

I wish we could have had better weather for the visit. It was raining all day, but the driving tour was excellent! It was so much information it was hard taking it all in! Loved it, more than worth our time to visit this wonderful Monument. I will come again and walk the battlefields to see what I missed this... More

Battle grounds still show incredible areas where either side dug in for the long battle and siege. Be sure to stop to see the Cairo: probably the best preserved of the old iron clad warships. Very sobering how many people fought and lost their lives at this turning point in the Civil war.

A fitting memorial to the Hell that soldiers and civilians from both sides endured. It never ceases to amaze me what people can and do do to each other. This as well as the Vicksburg National Memorial Battle Field are must sees.

This park is an extremely well documented and laid out military park. It has a great presentation building in the front, and the many superb monuments are meticulously maintained.

This is in the park and the size and structure is phenomenal All the names in graves on the walls just hits you a little more and makes you realize all that was lost. Beautiful memorial

Visited with friends and my 2 children under the age of 12. Very good experience. Explored the names and learned about the deliberate construction of the 47 steps to the monument. Very interesting history.
