Great area! Lots of shopping, restaurants--all in various prices to suit everyone. (Nearby is what I call Hawaii's "Rodeo Drive" with upscale stores.) Always something happening on the green area--hula hoop contests, etc. This area has many hotels and is only a block from the beach. I loved staying in this area, browsing and eating. If you like being in... More

Engaging commercial area redeveloped by Outrigger. Nicely done with a good mix of shops and restaurants, and a block from the classic Waikiki Beach restaurants. Torch-lit and with much live entertainment at night, this place really hops but is not overly loud--just a great public space for fun and good food. Several live shows on the plaza, esp Sun nights.

Make sure you visit the Truffaux straw hat shop. Awesome hats. I couldn't leave without one. On one end it hits the high end stores on the main street. The stores are great and the walk leads down to the beach.

Beautiful stretch of high-end retailers, hotels and restaurants along Kalakaua Avenue, even more so along the stretch by The Royal Hawaiian and the Moana Surfrider hotels. Several ABC stores mixed in, beautiful streetscaping. Decorated with beautiful lanterns to celebrate the Chinese New Year when we visited. Would agree that the tour companies with the flyers are annoying. Great alternative for... More

It was a nice walk and everything was very clean. My only complaint is the endless tourist tour companies trying to throw fliers at you. Some are more respectful than others.

Beautiful - what's not to love running near the ocean in January? Or in July? It's a long walk with beautifully paved stones. There are many tourists (of course, it's Waikiki!) so run early on your way from Waikiki to Diamond Head!

The Beach walk is great along Kalakawa Drive. There are many high end stores and restaurants along this road so you have to pick and choose where you want to shop or eat. Best thing to do is not to impulse shop and walk along the drive cause if you see the item remember where it is and keep walking... More

Been there - done that - won't go again. Waikiki is just like any other big city: overpriced stores and restaurants, too many people, and signs of poverty just a few blocks away.

Waikiki Beach Walk is a beautiful shopping/lodging complex just a block off the beach. Many small shops, some owner-operated, along with a multitude of eating establishments plus a couple of ABC stores. Our resort was in the complex and we found it to be a great place overall even though we are not inclined to patronize the pricier venues.

Waikiki Beach Walk is a wonderful few blocks lined with shops and restaurants on two levels, right in the heart of Waikiki. There are also frequent hula or music shows in grassy areas that can be enjoyed for free. Fun place to spend some time, and some money if you hit the shops here.
