Waikiki Beach is amazing, with white sand and warm water. Statutes along the front of the beach, and an open shower to wash away the sand from your feet or to just cool off. Food shop right there on the beach with table and chairs that you can sit and watch as ships pass in the horizon.

You'll see a variety of trees and great views! There is a pier to walk out and watch the waves. Some sun, some shade...great place for a walk!

The beach is ok and very crowded. Very crowded does make it ideal for people watching. You will see many attractive men and women as well as other interesting things.

We stayed in this area of Waikiki and it was wonderful, everything at your doorstep! 7 Eleven, numerous ABC stores, a couple of Starbucks, Bills Sydney (for "real" coffee!), many eateries catering to all tastes and budgets, clothing, art, jewellery, bars... it was a great location, mere metres from the main action with plenty to keep you occupied and the... If you are at a Hotel in downtown Waikiki, you have to walk to the Beach Walk, which isn't really too bad, however, there is not very much room to lay out in the sun. It's too over crowded. Your best bet is to go to the North Shore, less chaos and it is more quiet.

I first started walking in this area many years ago when the walk was known as Lewers Street. It contained mainly Outrigger hotels and the majority of the holiday makers in these hotels were mainly Australians (think that was because thats where the travel agents recommended) Well now its been modernised, beautiful new shops, new hotels which have either been... Its usually pretty crowed. Lots of homeless people squatting, but if I was homeless I would squat here too. Its nice if you can see past all that.

This beach is so clean and family friendly. Looks like all the shots you see on TV and in the movies.
