We were prepared for the worst after reading all the negative reviews on the Star of Honolulu New Year cruise. The 2 best features of this cruise were the superb service of all the staff from the ticket office to the greeting to the dining staff. We drove ourself to the Pier and therefore avoided the shuttle pickup and waiting... More

We were looking forward to having a wonderful New Year's Eve in Honolulu as we had had Christmas with the entire extended family and wanted something special. “Boat was a danger to visitors and whales”

Hated it. Boat was not ina good condition and crew seemed like they had already tapped into the alcohol. Drinks were overpriced. Boat got too close to the whales, and circled them, breaking all kinds of regulations. Their "on-board naturalists" is a joke, unless you count the voice playing on speakers in the background. 1/1/2007-We decided to go on the Star of Honolulu for their New Year's Celebration, to the tune of $150/per person, and it was by the far the biggest rip off and most half baked New Year's we have ever spent!
